개발자의 한마디:

“We wanted to take a few minutes and discuss with you all what our plan is for Gravi, what will be included with Early Access, and what will be added into the final release of Gravi on Steam.

First off, for those of you who don't know, Early Access is a way that you can buy a game on Steam before all the features have been added to the game. It's kind of like Steam’s way of making a purchasable beta of the game. Some games in Early Access are more complete than others, and some games have the core concept down while the developers continue to add features, goodies, and polish to the game.

While many of Gravi's features are representative of what you should expect to find in the completed game, we felt a need to make the Steam version of Gravi the best it can possibly be. Therefore, anything we make from Early Access sales will be reinvested to make Gravi even better!

Here is the plan and what you get with Early Access.

Gravi currently has 40 levels of gameplay and you will get the ability to play all 40 levels.

Gravi already has 25 achievements that are possible to get and, with Early Access, you will be able to get these achievements as you would any other Steam Achievements.

We have added Trading Cards, which I've previously posted about, and those also will be available during Early Access.

Gamepad support will be enabled and working; however, we are going to need some time to ensure that ALL gamepad types are supported, so gamepad support may be partial, and we will rely on you to report if your gamepad is not working so we can fix it pronto!

Here is the plan for further development after the Early Access release, and keep in mind that those who have purchased Early Access will get constant updates as we add features.

We want to enhance the storyline of Gravi. Currently, the storyline doesn’t really carry over from the game trailer into the gameplay, and we aim to change that. For an evil villain, Anti-Gravi doesn’t really make much of an impact on Gravi for most of the game, only showing up at the end of each chapter. We plan to give Anti-Gravi more screentime by adding him to more levels and totally re-engineering his chapter-end battles so that they’re bigger and better.

We’ve also designed a new type of collectibles which act as energy pickups for Gravi. You’ll need to fill up an energy bar in order to proceed to the next level, as this energy will power a door at the end of each level.

These collectibles will serve two purposes. First, they will help to better define where you should be heading inside of any given level. Second, they will also add difficulty to each level and allow us to balance the levels in the each chapter a little better.

With the inclusion of new collectibles, we also have some plans to super-charge the current set of green collectibles found on each level — yeah, those ones that are a pain in the ass to get. Not only will you get achievements for collecting them, but you’ll also be able to use them to purchase items from the Gravi Store. While nothing is set in stone yet, these items can range from anything like new visual flair for Gravi to game-changers like power-ups and other playable characters...even the ability to roll out as Anti-Gravi.

On top of all that, we’ll be adding more achievements that you can acquire, rewarding players for taking risks and trying out some of the harder solutions to Gravi’s puzzles.

Of course, we also want to add some highly-desired language support, and while we have translations in the works, there is significant UI (User Interface) redesign that has to take place to support a variety of languages. So when the final product is released, you will find a whole new Menu System in place as well as multiple language support.

Last, but not least, we want to provide quality support for gamepads and controllers as well as Steam’s Big Picture Mode, so we will be dedicating quite a bit of resources to ensure that Gravi supports as many controllers as possible and guarantee that the game looks spectacular in Big Picture Mode. Can anyone say Gravi on Steam Machine? Yes!”

Beta changes are now Live.

Hello Gravi'ers,

We have pushed our recent patch from our beta version to our live version. The beta will remain a new factor in our workflow as we make more changes to the game we will be now pushing them there first and any one can use the password (if you've acquired it via the forums) to participate in our beta & patch release testing.

All is back to normal now, and you can enjoy the fixed controller features as well as no more crashing :)

Upcoming fixes after the new years we are looking to fix the achievements. There are a couple that are not triggering when they are supposed to and we'll be fixing some visual bugs in the game as well.

We are planning to remove Gravi from early access in February.

Thanks all for your patience while we were fixing the game.

Gravi Beta - Patch 1

Update as of 2:00 (my time PST ) -

Crash bug is fixed.

I think I've fixed the achievements bug. On top of that, I fixed a bug with the keyboard not working when a controller is plugged in but not being used.

I have implemented our new Gamepad Kit. This should fix controller compatibility issues. Please test it out and let me know if your controllers are still having issues with the game.

In theory, and tested locally, everything should be working.

NOTE: There are still some visual bugs that need to be fixed, which our team will address this upcoming week.

I have pushed this new update to the Beta branch. To access the beta branch do the following:

• In the Steam main menu select: Library > Games
• Right-click on Gravi and select Properties

You should see a tab for "Betas" and select it. (Note this may require a Steam restart if you do not see the Betas tab)

• In the Dropdown select: Beta > Invite-only
• Enter GRAVIRULES4EVER in the access code field
• Then click "Check Code"

NOTE: You may need to restart Steam in order to get the download to start.

If you find any bugs that you wish to report on this build, send an email to and put "Gravi Bug" in the subject line. If you can, please provide a description of how to reproduce the issue and give details on the problem. The more detail, the better!

I have a bit of a bone to pick with video games that rely on ball physics. For various reasons the act of rolling a spherical object around in a digital world almost always proves extremely frustrating to me, as there is a fine line between overt realism and cartoon looseness that is often stepped over one way or the other to make for an unsatisfying experience. Gravi personifies the bulk of my gripes with this style of game, a hodgepodge of bad design decisions, uninspired art and music, and soulless level design.

Gravi functions around a core mechanic: creating temporary gravity fields which suck you toward them, by which you make your way around the levels, flipping switches, avoiding traps, and getting to the end pipe. Actually creating these fields is not nearly as intuitive as it should be however, and the controls leave a great deal on the table with regards to movement and precision (whether using a controller or keyboard and mouse). Your ball is either rolling sluggishly or far too fast and shooting gravity fields is almost trial and error like with how quickly and erratically you have to place them to survive.

This is worsened by the almost instant difficulty spike which only grows higher with each passing level. Checkpoints are placed annoyingly far apart, certain switches are timed which calls for even faster movement than usual (and yet there is no distinction between timed and normal switches), and the developers even try to work in multiplane levels (ala LittleBigPlanet) which more often than not winds up breaking and glitching you into spikes or other hazards (I also experienced at least one glitch that put me inside a piece of the environment). Some will defend these problems because the game is listed as being "Early Access", but with how long it has been available elsewhere without a beta or otherwise incomplete label, I find it rather inexcusable and just inherent to the poor design.

I played about halfway through the game before deciding to quit, and was bored well before I reached that point. The art direction is so bland and the music so generic, that the whole experience feels lifeless and disconnected. Even had the gameplay been better (or even good, which I would certainly not consider it) nothing about the way it plays or is presented is at all compelling and although I didn't expect a to actually become attached or care about a little glowing ball, I found it impossible to become even somewhat interested in anything the game offered.

Gravi is derivative, at times almost broken, and just not fun. Despite my prejudice against ball physics and games that utilize them, I feel I gave it more than a fair chance to prove me wrong, and yet all it did was further affirm my original thoughts while disappointing me all the same with its own form of mediocrity.

Who knew an OUYA game got a greenlight it deserved. Even though it's on Early Access, the game feels complete. The controls are fine, while the XBOX 360 Controller plays perfectly with the game. The game was meant to be hard. The game is quite frustrating on the later levels (at least you get infinite lives). Though the devs didn't release the game on Mac or Linux yet, but they know how to keep a promise on these, especially the upcoming release of SteamOS. Music is very fitting for the lab theme (not if repetive), so does the background. The achievements aren't too shabby either. They give challenge and will stump even the cleverest of the puzzle-platformer boffins. Though the graphics resemble more of an actual OUYA game, (in fact, it was previously released on OUYA). Though there are only 40 levels right now (with more added soon), but getting 4 stars and collectibles will crank the challenge up a notch or two.

Gameplay: 8/10
Music: 7/10
Graphics: 6/10
Lasting Appeal: 9/10
Price Opinion: 7/10

Overall: 8/10
You can't go wrong about this Early Access platformer that gives you that sciencific feeling.

Playing this game I did not realize it was early access, I ran into a couple bugs where I got stuck in the walls and that was about it for bugs (this game either does not have a suicide key or it is not listed in the controls)

It took me a little over 2 hours to beat the current 40 levels. Most of these levels posed some form of a challenge and I enjoyed them all.

One part I found odd is the lack of presence of Anti-Gravi though I suppose we will see more of him once the game is complete.

I honestly would recommend this game, even if the devs did no more work on it and called it complete as is. A nice challenging platformer.

Avoid this game! Gravi is not really early access. The developers haven't updated any content in the game for more than a year and are entirely absent in the forums. It feels like they have given up on this game entirely.

Several things are broken in the game. 3 of the first 10 stages would not mark themselves as completed after I finished them, even after completing them several times each. Almost every level has serious bugs where you get stuck or get killed by nothing. You will need to replay most levels several times because of the bugs.

The volume control menu doesn't work and the game volume randomly changes while you play. The shrink power really doesn't respond most of the time. I dread when a level requires me to use the shrink power because I know I'll have to replay the level many times.

Playing this game felt like a chore. I cannot think of any redeeming factors, especially considering the developers abandoned the game before it was even completed.

in short this game is a fun and challenging platformer but the controls could be improved since its a little loose, still the game is fun while the challenge increases as you progress and keep in mind that the game is still in early access form, i really hope with an update they could tighten the controls a little since the advanced levels requires precise movement

After reading bad reviews i decided to take a closer look at this game. now after less than two hours and 40%+ complete i must say it's time to say a few words about the game.

Game works well technically. It has not crashed yet and game pad works just fine.

Game character rolls around very loosely but i dont see that as a bug. i think it's designed this way to force the player to balance your gravi all the time near edges. See those curved slopes with spikes at either the top and maybe a flame at the bottom? Coincidence for sure.

Menus look goofy with their cartoonish looks but i dont see any more need to spill more ink about that. They work and thats it.

Not much backstory. Who or what is this anti-gravi seen in the pics?

Biggest problem i see with this game is that it has painted itself into a game genre niche corner of a sorts: the only people i can recommend this are people who have beaten Super Meat Boy and are looking for a challenge. If you are new to this genre then this game is not a very good starting point. Not as polished as SMB and not as fun as Escape Goat.

It is pointless to bash this game for what it represents. it is quite simple with limited content, maschocistic as hell and you need good pain tolerance and good nerves to proceed in the levels. But so are the much better known SMB and others.

I had some fun with this - but now i must probably rest as the game pad will probably be smashed into the wall soon next to the pulp formerly known as Meat Boy. I'll give this a careful thumbs up since the game is just fine and the buyer really needs to understand that this game is not casual in any way. It is just as hardcore as it's predecessors in the genre. Game is also often found in bundles and sales so it's unlikely that you will pay too much for this.

edit: collectable count stopped working after awhile so there really is no point going forward until they fix this. After all this IS a game where you progress and try to achieve hard to get items/achievements.

Fun platformer with somewhat unique mechanic in that you basically grapple around the levels. The ball of matter that's your character does suffer from a lot of inertia though, and takes practice to get used to. This, coupled with the fact that the difficulty level ramps up fast may cause some frustration.

Although this game claims to be a puzzle-platformer, honestly this element of "puzzle" is almost never there. You never have enough time to analyze any situation in order to solve the issues before you, so it results in you bashing your little blue self against the traps over and over in a desperate attempt to manage these unwieldy obstacles. The mitosis aspect of the game wonky as could be, but that is fair to attribute to the game still being early access. This game definitely has some promise, but the controls are not intuitive and right now it's just an annoyance to play. I suppose I may have taken the "tolerance for pain" warning a little lightly, but I certainly didn't expect a Dark Souls level of frustration when playing.

I really wanted to like this game, and even accounting for it being "Early Access", but I keep finding myself irritated and wanting to play anything else.

To begin with, the idea sounds awesome. Roll around, fire out your little gravity bender, get pulled to it. You can "resist" the pull, and use that to your advantage. However, where this whole mechanism falls apart is in both the control scheme and the implementation.

Your projectile also has to follow the standard parabolic path any first year physics student would be familiar with. Trying to accurately aim this parabolic projectile with the mouse, while also controlling Gravi with your keyboard, seems to be entirely an exercise in frustration. If this is where the developers were getting the "puzzle" part of "Puzzle platformer", I think they should revisit what that means. There weren't times where I was trying to find my own path through a level, or trying to figure out which switch to pull when. They levels were incredibly linear, and the only puzzles I could find were the mechanics.

For instance, there are areas near the end of chapter 1 that require you to "swing" from the ceiling, while avoiding the fire jets above, and the spikes below. This turned into pure frustration for me- minor changes to the angle of my projectile caused it to miss the ceiling pillars entirely, or catch the side instead of the bottom and pull me into the flames. When I could successfully hit the first pillar, transitioning to the next one seemed to be "how fast can you slightly adjust the mouse and fire again so that the projectile hits the pillar before you fall to the spikes below", not "can you make a good plan through this gauntlet". Super Meat Boy was fun because of the precision required and how exact the control felt. Gravi is not, because it requires similar levels of precision but has controls that feel much less exact.

Perhaps it would be better with a controller, but I feel that the problem is not solely to blame on the control system, but instead lies in the combination of cramped quarters and need to exact responses with pixel-perfect precision.

Control issues aside, the levels looked rather blah. Graphically they are detailed enough to have some character, but the limited palette leads to some visual confusion at times. It also felt at times like the detail of the background fights with the important information about dangers in the level itself.

The audio wasn't bad, but wasn't great, either. I would consider the sound and music to be a wash, all told.

Overall, I cannot recommend this. There are better platformers out there, and I didn't really find the "puzzle" aspect to this.

This game totally piece of s#!t.

Let's see on achievements global stats, first chapter complete only 15% players, second chapter - 3%.
I think that the problem in management of protagonist: not able to stand on the spot (either automatically or by pressing key), too slow flight of the projectiles, etc.
In addition, the level design is too bad thought, for example timers on fire hobs and spikes - is different, and this creates a headache for the player.

The game is very raw, do not recommend buying at this price.

Really enjoyed this game. Wasn't too challenging, actually pretty easy, but still entertaining. Getting use to the controls is the hardest part but once you do the game is addicting. Only problem I have with the game is that some of the achievements were bugged and didn't unlock.
As I mentioned the game was pretty easy and also rather short. I got it in a bundle for only 75 cents, it's currently on sale for $3.39 during the holiday sale but usually it's $9.99. I gotta say it's probably not worth $9.99 but definitely worth $3.39. Get it!
