Deep strategy, chess like gameplay, takes ages to get to grips with but very rewarding once you do.
If your looking for a flashy game with great animations and personal custamization then... go find another 4x game because this isn't it.
it's all about strategy, it's all about perfecting your early game and reaping the steam rolling rewards in the late game. It's on the deeper end of the complexity scale but unlike something like crusader kings 2, it's not initially mind boggling... for the most part. Though the building tree is extremely expansive and not very well laid out...
It doesn't run very smoothly either... I've got a 780 now and it works fine, but my previous 570m on my l;aptop had some stuttering, though anything over a 760 should be very smooth. And most people have that at least, so this is just a wasted sentence i guess lol.
the game has it's flaws; the campaign is excessivley long and boring. Though the writing is great I'd reccomend just free play or whatever it's called.
also steam rolling... not very fun late game, it's a problem with most 4x games, it's steam rolling. Once you've bumped off the enemy commander a couple times YOU WIN.
though it can be fun to maintain and manage a huge kingdom, exploring your lands etc.
it's worth the price, it's worth putting a good 100-150 hours into, and it's a 4x game I'll be coming back to at some point. The ai is very good and it's heart warming to see how many different strategies can be played out in this game.
