General Updates

Steam Networking: Phase II
Game Client
The Synergy game client will now connect to all internet servers using the Steam Datagram Relay (SDR) by default.

This will:
  • Keep your IP address hidden from servers you connect to.
  • Encrypt all server network traffic (incoming and outgoing).
  • Possibly lower ping times.
Connecting to a server via a LAN IP address will remain unchanged. It will always connect via local IP directly and bypass the SDR as it would otherwise increase ping times by going over the internet instead of staying within the LAN. However, connecting to a server on the LAN via a SteamID (e.g. connect <steamid>) will use the SDR.

If you wish to instead connect to servers with your IP address (how it worked before) then disable this ConVar:
cl_sdr_prefer 0
cl_sdr_prefer 0 will not work when trying to connect to a Dedicated Server using an anonymized IP address (see below) or when connecting via a SteamID; the SDR will still be used in those cases.

Dedicated Servers
Synergy Dedicated Servers will now use anonymized IP addresses by default.

This will:
  • Keep the server's public IP address private.
  • Remove the requirement to port forward the server to display in the Server Browser.
If you prefer to continue displaying your server's real IP address in the server browser then add the following startup option to keep previous behavior:
-nofakeip
Clients will still attempt to connect via the SDR by default even with -nofakeip. If the server has -nofakeip and the client has cl_sdr_prefer disabled, the connection will not use the SDR - as it worked by default before this update.

Due to a possible Steam bug, servers using an anonymized IP address will not show up in the Steam Client's Server Browser, but it will show up in Synergy's in-game server browser. -nofakeip can be used to workaround this.

Listen Servers
Listen servers are unchanged and will work as they did in the previous update (i.e. connect <friends-steamid>). UI updates are still in progress to make playing with Steam friends easier.

Elite Exorcist Miko - tian nya
Happy New Year!

It's been almost a week since the Early Access release of Elite Exorcist Miko, and so first of all, a big thank you to all players! I've received a ton of feedback, and I'm itching to jump back into development and start working on more content for you to enjoy! But first, I'd like to share plans for a smaller update that will hopefully be ready around a week from now.

Here's a list of upcoming changes:
  • Easy Mode! I've thought a lot about this, and ultimately I think this will be a necessary addition in order for more people to be able to enjoy the main story. Many people are new to bullet hells, and while there are ways for players to make things easier, some may not be immediately evident. The current plan for Easy Mode is to lower enemy and boss projectile quantity, and increase healing and invincibility time (on hit or Scroll use). Boss crowns and certain achievements will not be obtainable in Easy Mode, and Extra Stages will not be accessible as they are intended to be optional, difficult fights.
  • Better drops! Obtaining materials and Holo Essence to craft equipment and make offerings is currently a fairly slow process, and players may feel frustrated when Holo Essence drops instead of a material they're looking for. While using Simple Sealing speeds up the process, I don't want players to feel forced to use it purely for grinding. The plan is to split material and Holo Essence drops in Main Expeditions so that neither has a chance of replacing the other, and also increase the total drop amount in the process.
  • Alternative way to obtain Cosplays! Currently, cosplays are locked behind boss crowns, which may be frustrating for players who are not interested in no-hitting a boss but would nevertheless like her outfit. With the coming update, boss cosplays will be purchasable using their respective Seals! They will still remain obtainable the current way, and Extra Stage boss cosplays will be exempt from this method.
That sums up the changes for the next update! But what about the overall content plan? That's where this roadmap comes in!


This is the general outline for content planned all the way up to the full release! Do note that the listed release times are estimates and are subject to change. A major update will be made for each Main Expedition stage, with new enemies, 1 midboss and 3-4 bosses, and an assortment of new items. Extra Stages will be implemented in smaller updates in-between, and will each feature a special gimmick that sets them apart from other battles.

To give you a hint of what's to come, I'll reveal the name of the next stage in development: Makai Stage! Try to guess which hololive members you might encounter here!

Happy New Year, everyone! I'm TT, the developer of Glimmer in Mirror.

It's been a few months since the last major update, and I've received your messages asking about the progress of the new update. Thank you so much for your support!

I want to start by apologizing. In the second half of this year, due to some personal family matters, it has affected the development progress of version 0.8. Originally, we planned to release the major 0.8 update in 2024, but as of now, there’s still a lot that hasn't been completed.

But don't worry, we haven't stopped! As my personal matters gradually settle down, development efficiency has picked up, and version 0.8 is steadily moving forward. I hope you'll continue to be patient with us (a deep bow, and another one).

Here's a sneak peek for you—one of the new monsters from the Frozen Lands in version 0.8:




In 0.8, we'll have ground combat like in the previous maps, but there will also be some aerial battles with owls. We're polishing the aerial combat experience right now, and we hope you'll enjoy it when it's officially released!

4. Faster Startup Times: We’ve transitioned from a single .exe file to a directory-based system. While this results in a larger game size and a bigger update to download, it significantly reduces startup costs, so you can dive into the game more quickly. Let us know if this change improves your experience!

5. Bug Fixes: Hidden Lair issues at high classes have been resolved, NPC attack mechanics at higher combat difficulties have been corrected, and crashes caused by loading a previous Mandarin build into English have been addressed with additional sanity checks. We’ve also squashed a few smaller bugs to make the game more stable.
