What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early access provides the opportunity to develop the final stages of our game with the inclusion of the community as an important component in the process. This allows us to receive feedback, suggestions, and address concerns so that we may develop the best possible experience for everyone.

There are still numerous features we plan on implementing and our goal is to include the community in shaping them each step of the way; allowing us to expand Capsa beyond just our own ideas and expectations.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate leaving Early Access during 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are planning on incorporating new vehicles (land, sea and air) as well as expanding the game with minigames and activities.”

  • Large scale open world (~>10km islands combined landmass in tropical atoll with 20km total area)
  • Advanced character customization, featuring full facial shaping and clothing options.
  • Basic home customization.
  • Fun customizable pets, which include clothing options.

  • Player hosted dedicated servers with array of configuration options including privacy
  • Dance animations and Club areas featuring in-game music streaming.
  • Basic in-game text chat
  • Dynamic day/night cycle
  • Full gamepad support

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change during early access (except during sales) with the expection that Capsa will be Free-To-Play.”

This update introduces a world map menu which allows the player to see markers of unlocked areas, locations of players, and place a waypoint to travel to. There are filters to switch which marker type is shown as well to display players which are friends only. To open the map it is M key by default for keyboard and Back button (or equivilent) for gamepad.

In addition to this we've also overhauled the gamepad mappings with support for all recently added features and improving action set switching. You may need to grab the latest official gamepad mapping in Big Picture mode if it isn't automatically updated for you.
