What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Loot Hole is fully playable from the first swing to the bottom of the world, alone or in online co-op. We want the people digging to help shape what comes next: the pace of the upgrades, which finds and secret rooms to add, and what friends can do together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for about three months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add more secret rooms and finds, more yard builds, outfits and neighbours' requests, more to do together in co-op, and keep tuning the pace of the dig from players' feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The whole dig is in: online co-op, ten tools, backpacks, jetpacks and dynamite, more than 190 finds in layers down to the Core, secret rooms, the neighbours' stands, a dog to adopt, the yard builder and the wardrobe, Steam achievements, full controller support and 23 languages.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price modestly at full release, as new content arrives. Early Access buyers keep everything that comes later.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read the Steam discussions and reviews and post patch notes with every update; what Early Access players ask for decides what we tune and add first.”

About This Game

Just one more dig

Loot Hole is a cozy first-person digging game. Grab a shovel and dig up your own front yard: the ground really opens up wherever you swing, and every hole stays where you dug it. Bottle caps and old pennies wait near the surface, pocket watches and ancient coins further down, glowing crystals and lost treasure deep below. And the next swing might always be the one that finds something good.

You never know what's down there

Over 190 finds are buried in the yard, from common junk to legendary treasure: a toaster, a nutcracker, a treasure chest, a crown, a dragon egg. Each one pops out of the dirt with a sparkle and a glow in its rarity's colour. Dig up a few in quick succession for a combo worth up to half as much again, and complete sets in your collection to make every find in them sell for more.

Rock too hard? Dynamite.

Every layer is harder than the one above it, from soft topsoil through clay, gravel and stone down to slate and beyond. When your tool starts to struggle, pick up a bomb, a stick of dynamite or a whole bundle from Mr. Bolt. Throw it, step back and watch it blow a hole through rock you'd be swinging at for ages, and maybe shake a few finds loose while it's at it.

Keep going. It gets weird.

Ten layers lie between your lawn and the bottom of the world, and each one ends in a secret to break into: an old well, a pirate's chest, a mammoth skeleton, an underground lake, a crystal cathedral, a lost temple, a river of lava. Every one holds a guaranteed rare find. Then keep digging, through caves, crystals and ancient ruins, down to the humming Core itself.

Grandpa Joe buys anything

Carry your finds back up and sell them to Grandpa Joe at the yard stall. Spend the coins at Mr. Bolt's booth next door: ten tools from a rusty shovel to a core drill, bigger backpacks to carry more, jetpacks to fly back up and lamps for the dark. Every upgrade digs faster and deeper. The neighbours stop by with requests too, and pay well for exactly the find they're after.

Better with friends

Invite up to three friends into your yard through Steam, or share your yard's code. Everyone digs the same ground and every find is shared, so whoever grabs it first keeps it. Chat, send emotes, chip in coins for a friend who's saving up, and take turns with the dog. Your coins, tools and finds come along when you visit, and go home with you when you leave.

Yes, you can pet the dog

Adopt a dog at the kennel and pick from 16 breeds. Take it along and it sniffs out the nearest buried find and points at it with a paw. Leave it in the yard and it digs up treasure of its own, then runs over to drop it at your feet. Throw it the ball, train it to sniff out rarer things, and yes, you can pet it. As often as you like.

Make it yours

Put up a football goal, a basketball hoop and a few garden gnomes, paint your house and dress up your digger in the wardrobe. Loot Hole has full controller support and is in 23 languages, with no ads and no microtransactions.
