What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows us to develop Flak Simulator with feedback from players who enjoy detailed military simulation. We want to use that feedback to refine gun handling, aiming, combat balance, and usability, and to help guide our development priorities.

Our focus is on making the core experience engaging and accessible while preserving the depth of operating anti-aircraft artillery.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Flak Simulator to remain in Early Access for approximately six months after its Early Access launch. This estimate may change depending on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We aim to expand the variety of combat scenarios and further refine gun operation, crew interactions, aircraft behavior, and the overall presentation. We also plan to improve performance, multiplayer stability, and usability based on testing and community feedback. The scope and priorities may change during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build includes the core anti aircraft gameplay loop:
supplying ammunition, setting shell fuses, loading, aiming, and firing at incoming aircraft formations. Day and night scenarios are available, along with separate crew stations and a combined aiming option.

The game is still under active development. Content variety is currently limited, and animations, balance, performance, and multiplayer functionality are still being refined. Players should expect bugs and unfinished elements.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer Flak Simulator at a lower price during Early Access and increase the price for the full release to reflect the additional content and improvements. We will announce the price increase in advance through Steam announcements.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use the Steam Community discussions and primarly Discord to gather feedback, bug reports, and suggestions. We are particularly interested in players experiences with gun operation, aiming, difficulty, and usability.

This feedback will help us identify issues and guide development priorities. We also plan to share development updates through Steam announcements and explain how player feedback is shaping the game.”

Roadmap

About This Game

Five players. One gun.

You and your friends operate the feared German 88 mm anti-aircraft gun of the Second World War. Up to five players share one gun: someone watches the bombers and calls out the range, while the others aim, set fuzes or load the next round.

Then comes the first shot. You watch where the shell bursts and adjust. Too short? Too late? With every shot, you get to know the gun a little better. With practice, the next job gets done before anyone has to ask.

Find your place in the crew

Divide the jobs or move between stations when someone needs a hand. At the rangefinder, you track the incoming aircraft. At the aiming wheels, you keep the gun moving with them. Bringing up ammunition means your friends won't be left waiting at an empty breech.

Let one player handle both aiming axes or split elevation and traverse between two people. Keep talking to each other. A range called out in time matters just as much as the next shell being ready.

Get to know the 88

Work the handwheels and breech, carry ammunition from the supply point and prepare each round. Set the fuze so the shell bursts as close to the target as possible.

A burst behind the bomber formation tells you something. So does one that goes off too soon. Watch the result, adjust your fuze setting and lead, then try again. Over time, you'll get a feel for the gun and learn how to put shots on target together.

Keep an eye on the sky

By day, bomber formations cross your field of fire. At night, searchlight beams help you follow the aircraft. Hits can damage engines, tear away parts and bring bombers down.

Between waves, there's time to bring up more ammunition and get ready for the next approach.

Want a gun of your own?

In Arcade mode, each player gets a separate gun. An automatic crew handles range measurements, fuze settings and loading. You choose your targets and aim the gun yourself, playing alone or with up to four other players.

After each round, compare scores and use the experience you've earned to train your crew.

What to expect

  • First-person operation of the German 88 mm anti-aircraft gun.

  • Cooperative play for up to five players on one gun.
