About This Game

Fresh fish. Fishy business.
You own a bar on the lake. The fish on the menu is fresh, because you caught it this morning. Everything else about the place is a bit fishy. Fishy Bar is a first-person simulator with a simple loop: fish all day, cook and serve all night, count the money, pay whoever is knocking on the door, repeat.

Think Dave the Diver, but you are standing behind the bar with your own two hands, a mop, and a dog that smells fish better than you do.

HOOK
Grab a rod, take the boat out and work the lake from dawn to dusk (or after dark, if you brought a lamp). Over 40 freshwater species, from bluegill and crappie to lake trout, striped bass, blue catfish and the alligator gar that snaps a cheap line like spaghetti. Common, uncommon, rare and legendary catches, each with its own weight, price and recipe. Bigger fish need bigger rods, stronger lines and a boat that does not tip over. A magnet pulls treasure off the bottom: gold rings, ancient vases, a pirate's wooden leg and a suspicious amount of sweaty socks.

COOK
Back in the kitchen, turn the day's catch into dinner. Boil it, grill it, steak it, roll it into sushi. Dozens of recipes built from your fish plus groceries from Sam's store: garlic butter, dill, paprika, lemon, potatoes, and whatever else you decide counts as a vegetable. Fish chips, fish paste, fish soup, canned fish, dried fish, fish shakes. Every machine you buy is another thing you can sell, and another thing that can go wrong at 11 pm on a busy night.

SERVE
Open the doors and the regulars pour in. Build the bar menu, set the prices, pour the coffee and the tea, carry the plates, clear the dirty ones, and yes, someone has to clean the toilet. Every night ends with a service summary: customers served, customers lost, fish eaten (in kilograms), average tip and rating change. Hire a waiter when you cannot keep up. Unlock the balcony, the second floor and the snack shop when the crowd outgrows the room.

UPGRADE
Money goes into the boat (four of them, with engines, lamps and storage), the rods, the kitchen and the bar itself: tables, machines, decorations, and a skill tree with a fishing license, a longer cast, cheaper groceries and a better trained dog. Moonshine and cigarettes take the edge off a long day. Mushrooms let you have a serious conversation with a raccoon. Do not overthink it.

SURVIVE THE PAPERWORK
Taxes come due. The loan wants repaying. The mail brings bills and, occasionally, a very generous stranger who just needs a small transfer first. Fall for it and the game will not be gentle about it. Between the fees, the dirty plates and the guy who ordered "any fish", the lake starts to look like the relaxing part of the job.
