Rail Capital is a real-time railway strategy and economic management game inspired by the shared networks, shifting ownership and decisions of 18xx board games.

Beginning in 1820 with little more than some cash and an ambitious plan, you'll found a railway, issue shares and raise the money needed to lay track, build trains and win important auctions of train prototypes, blueprints and company bonuses.

After laying track and designing services to decide exactly what each carriage should load, carry and unload you'll keep an eye on public and privately securable contracts, invest in prospective industries and place warehouses to gather the cargo.

Every railway exists within a wider economy. Passengers expect useful connections, industries buy raw materials, factories transform cargo into valuable products, and ports provide access to distant markets. Prices respond to supply and demand, while warehouses, contracts and specialist freight routes create opportunities for careful logistics planning.

Your company’s money is not your own. Revenue can be retained for expansion or paid as dividends to shareholders. Buy and sell shares, defend your presidency, challenge rival boards and pursue mergers. Prototype locomotives, blueprints and freight consignments also pass through live railway auctions.

Compete against distinct AI personalities or other players in real-time multiplayer games. Explore seeded sandbox maps, handcrafted scenarios, guided campaigns, daily challenges and the Iron Road rogue-lite mode, where your company advantages carry across a branching railway journey.
