About This Game

You are looking for one broken pixel.

It flickers, white to black, every 10 to 30 seconds. It could be anywhere — floor, ceiling, the far wall, the corner behind you. You have a toothpick. You have a magnifying glass. You have all the time in the world, and none of the time in the world.

68 levels of escalating absurdity.

Start in a 3×3 metre room with one small monitor. End on a rooftop staring across a night skyline where every facade is a screen. In between: painted galleries, football pitches, sixteen identical white rooms, a drone swarm, a rotating carousel of televisions, a cinema, fifty rooms called "The Void", a shy pixel that hides when you look at it, and a marathon.

Your kit:

- Toothpick — poke it once you find it. Misses leave smudges so you know where you've been.

- Magnifying glass — up to 14× zoom. Scroll wheel adjusts.

- Overdrive — makes the pixel strobe rainbow and beep from its location for 8 seconds. Long cooldown.

- Four stances — prone, crouch, stand, stand tall. You can only walk while standing. The rest are for inspecting.

- Freeze device (level 31+) — stops every moving screen for five seconds.

Three difficulty modes:

- Normal — take your time.

- Hard — countdown per level. Miss it, get demoted.

- Brutal — Hard, in the dark, with a flashlight.

Fully procedural. Every room, screen, painting, stadium and skyline is generated. No two runs are the same. Twenty original lounge tracks — bossa nova, cocktail piano, tiki, vaporwave, noir — shuffle while you search.

Bring your patience. And your glasses.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of the content in Broken Pixel was created using generative AI. All of it was produced during development, reviewed by us, and shipped as fixed, pre-generated assets — no AI runs while you play.

- Story narration: the roughly ten hours of spoken narration were generated with an AI text-to-speech model (ElevenLabs). The scripts were written with AI assistance and edited by hand.
- Player avatars: the 3D character avatars were generated with an AI image-to-3D tool (Meshy).
- Store & marketing art: the capsule and marketing images were generated with an AI image model (Runware / fal.ai).
- Soundtrack: the lounge soundtrack was generated with an AI music model (Mureka).

The gameplay itself contains no AI-generated content — every room, screen, painting and level layout is built by traditional procedural code. Nothing is generated live, and the game never connects to an AI service while you play.
