What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Blood of Rations is a PvPvE extraction shooter. Its core — what loot is worth, how fast a fight ends, how the economy breathes, the tension of a raid against real opponents — can only be balanced against real players. I'm a solo developer. I can build the systems. I cannot simulate a live population in a test harness. Early Access puts the game in front of the people it's built for while its balance is still soft enough to move. I'd rather tune the economy and the game with you than guess at it alone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I estimate roughly 16 to 32 months. That's a target, not a promise. The game leaves Early Access when the full feature set is in and stable — not on a fixed date. If it needs longer, I'll say so plainly rather than ship it early.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version grows from the Early Access foundation along these lines:

More raids. Ardennes Airfield is the first map. The full game adds further locations.

A wider arsenal. More period weapons, attachments, and gear.

A deeper Bunker. More stations to build and upgrade between raids.

A matured economy. More Traders, loot tables, more quests and progression tuned against live data.

Hardening. Performance, anti-cheat, and server stability brought to release standard.

I won't add systems that dilute the four pillars — Absolute Vulnerability, Spatial Inventory, Meaningful Extraction, the warm feeling of the Bunker anchor. The scope grows. The design does not soften. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At Early Access launch, Blood of Rations includes:

One raid map — Ardennes Airfield — playable end to end: deploy, loot, fight, extract.

The walkable Bunker hub with its working stations.

The full core loop: spatial-grid inventory, permadeath within a raid, extraction, and a persistent stash that carries between raids.

One Trader to buy from and sell to, and a simple quest system.

Online PvPvE raids on dedicated, server-authoritative servers.

Hunger and thirst, fully diegetic audio, no minimap.

Still in progress: additional maps, the full trader economy, anti-cheat at scale, and content volume. The loop is complete and the game is playable — but the content footprint is deliberately small at launch and will grow through Early Access. You're buying the foundation, with me, early.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes.
The price will rise gradually as the game grows toward 1.0. Early Access supporters buy once and keep the game through to the full release at no extra cost — the lower price is my thanks for backing it early.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm a solo developer, which means a short line between you and the person building the game. During Early Access I will:

Keep a public roadmap and write patch notes for every build.

Tune the economy and combat balance from live data and direct feedback.

Be honest about what works, what does not, and what I'm cutting.

Extraction shooters are made by their communities. I intend to treat that literally.”

About This Game

Out here, there's one thing worth surviving for: getting home.

Every weapon, every ration, every scrap you drag back makes your bunker stronger.

Everyone else on the map wants to make sure you never get there.

What is Blood of Rations?

Blood of Rations is a first-person WW2 PvPvE extraction shooter set on the European front, 1944.

You deploy alone into the night, scavenge what you can carry, and fight whoever — and whatever — you meet on   the way out.

Everything you extract, you keep. Everything you leave behind is gone for good.

Ardennes Airfield, 1944.

A dead airfield under a black sky — and you are not alone.

Deserters already work the field: some loot quietly, some patrol with rifles up.

The other players do both. No objectives, no commanders, no medals.

Just what you can carry, and the way out.

A Tetris grid is your only carry limit.

A can of peaches is a win.

A legendary rarity MG42 is a story you'll tell tomorrow.

If you extract

To leave, light a green flare and stand in it — the only bright color for miles — for eight long seconds.

Everyone still alive can see exactly where you are.

The hardest part of any raid is the last eight.

Between raids you build.

Thirteen stations to repair and upgrade from what you drag home.

Eat before you deploy, or deploy weak.

The bunker is the only warm place left in the world — and reaching it is the point.

No minimap.

No enemy markers.

Every sound is diegetic.

Boots ringing on a hangar roof, canvas tearing as you search a corpse, the M1 Garand's clip pinging into the dark to tell everyone you're out.

Now in Development

Blood of Rations is being built by one developer with a studio from Norway. Wishlist & follow development and be notified when the game is available. Devlog here:

one that respects the weight of each raid,

the cost of each death,

and the earned warmth of coming home,

in a WW2 Setting, then you have found it.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Blood of Rations is developed by a one developer studio that uses generative AI tools as part of its content pipeline to help with development & speed.

AI-assisted tools help create content across several areas of the game:

• 2D art — some store, marketing, and interface images are created with AI image-generation tools.
• 3D art — some of the in-game props and models, and their textures, are generated with an AI 3D-generation tool.
• Audio — some sound effects and music are produced with AI audio tools.
• Text — some in-game text and store/marketing copy is drafted with AI writing tools.

All AI-assisted content is pre-generated during development, then reviewed, edited, and curated by the development team before it ships. The game contains no real-time or live AI generation — players are never exposed to unfiltered, on-the-fly AI output during play.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Blood of Rations is a hardcore WW2 extraction shooter. It contains realistic firearm violence — players hunt and kill one another with period weapons, and fallen players leave lootable bodies. Blood effects are present but minimal; there is no gore, dismemberment, or torture. The game depicts period-accurate alcohol and tobacco, and battlefield medical morphine, as survival/consumable items. There is no sexual content or nudity. This is an online multiplayer game; interactions with other players are not moderated by a ratings authority.
