What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Blood of Rations is a PvP extraction shooter. Its core — what loot is worth, how fast a fight ends, how the economy breathes, the tension of a raid against real opponents — can only be balanced against real players. We are a small studio. We can build the systems. We cannot simulate a live population in a test harness. Early Access puts the game in front of the people it is built for while its balance is still soft enough to move. We would rather tune the economy and the game with you than guess at it alone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate roughly 12 to 16 months. That is a target, not a promise. The game leaves Early Access when the full feature set is in and stable — not on a fixed date. If it needs longer, we will say so plainly rather than ship it early.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version grows from the Early Access foundation along these lines:

More raids. Ardennes Airfield is the first map. The full game adds further locations.
A wider arsenal. More period weapons, attachments, and gear.
A deeper Bunker. More stations to build and upgrade between raids.
A matured economy. more Traders, loot tables, more quests and progression tuned against live data.
Hardening. Performance, anti-cheat, and server stability brought to release standard.
We will not add systems that dilute the four pillars — Absolute Vulnerability, Spatial Inventory, Meaningful Extraction, the warm feeling of the Bunker anchor. The scope grows. The design does not soften.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At Early Access launch, Blood of Rations includes:

One raid map — Ardennes Airfield — playable end to end: deploy, loot, fight, extract.
The walkable Bunker hub with its working stations.
The full core loop: spatial-grid inventory, permadeath within a raid, extraction, and a persistent stash that carries between raids.
One Trader you can can sell/buy to and a simple quest system
Online PvP raids on dedicated, server-authoritative servers.
Hunger and thirst, fully diegetic audio, no minimap.
Still in progress: additional maps, the full trader economy, anti-cheat at scale, and content volume. The loop is complete and the game is playable — but the content footprint is deliberately small at launch and will grow through Early Access. You are buying the foundation, with us, early.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will rise gradually as the game grows towards 1.0.
Early Access supporters buy once and keep the game through to the full release at no extra cost — the lower price is the thanks for backing it early. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are a small team, which means a short line between you and the people building the game. During Early Access we will:

Run a Discord where the developers read and reply.
Keep a public roadmap and write patch notes for every build.
Tune the economy and combat balance from live data and direct feedback.
Be honest about what works, what does not, and what we are cutting.
Extraction shooters are made by their communities.
We intend to treat that literally.”

About This Game

Goal:

Out here, there's one thing worth surviving for: getting home.

Every weapon, every ration, every scrap you drag back makes your bunker stronger.

Everyone else on the map wants to make sure you never get there.

What is Blood of Rations?

Blood of Rations is a first-person PvP tactical extraction looter shooter set on the European Front, 1944. You deploy alone onto war-scarred terrain, scavenge what you can carry, and fight whoever you meet on the way out. There are no objectives, no commanders, no medals. In any single raid, the goal is simple: reach the extraction zone, hold your ground long enough to leave, and get home alive. Across every raid, the goal is bigger — everything you carry out, you keep, and you pour it into a bunker that grows stronger and a loadout that gives you a real chance next time. Everything you fail to extract is gone for good. The greatest threat is always other players.

Main Menu

Key Features

Absolute Vulnerability. 100 HP. No passive regeneration in-raid. One well-placed rifle shot to the head ends your run.

Spatial Inventory. A Tetris grid is the only carry limit. Every slot is a decision. Finding a can of peaches is a win. A legendary MG42 is a story you'll tell tomorrow — if you extract.

Meaningful Extraction. Reaching the extraction zone makes you visible, illuminated, and entirely vulnerable. The hardest & most intense part of a raid is the last thirty seconds.

The Bunker Anchor. Between raids, you build. Repair. Upgrade your underground safe house station by station, using materials pulled from the field. The bunker is the only safe place in the world — and going home to it is the emotional reward of every session.

Hunger and Thirst. Survival isn't background noise. Eat in the bunker before you deploy, or deploy weak. Drink between fights. Skip too many meals and you don't come home. Field food is loot worth fighting for.

A World Worth Listening To. No minimap. No enemy markers. All audio is diegetic — the crack of boots on a metal hangar roof, the rustle of canvas during a search, the dead silence before extraction succeeds. Your headset is your radar.

The World

Occupied Europe in 1944 is a faded, polygon-edged battlefield: desaturated greens, ochre rust, grey fog. Even the wheat field above your bunker has gone grey — the sky over home hasn't cleared in months. The only warmth left in the world is your bunker, sealed underground: the one place the war hasn't reached. Beauty is still out there if you look for it. The war has just used most of it up.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Blood of Rations is developed by a small independent studio that uses generative AI tools as part of its content pipeline. AI-assisted tools help create content across several areas of the game:

• 3D art — some of the in-game props and models, and their textures, are generated with an AI 3D-generation tool (Tripo).
• 2D art — some store, marketing, and interface images are created with AI image-generation tools.
• Audio — some sound effects and music are produced with AI audio tools.
• Text — some in-game text and store/marketing copy is drafted with AI writing tools.

All AI-assisted content is pre-generated during development, then reviewed, edited, and curated by the development team before it ships. The game contains no real-time or live AI generation — players are never exposed to unfiltered, on-the-fly AI output during play.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Blood of Rations is a hardcore WW2 extraction shooter. It contains realistic firearm violence — players hunt and kill one another with period weapons, and fallen players leave lootable bodies. Blood effects are present but minimal; there is no gore, dismemberment, or torture. The game depicts period-accurate alcohol and tobacco, and battlefield medical morphine, as survival/consumable items. There is no sexual content or nudity. This is an online multiplayer game; interactions with other players are not moderated by a ratings authority.
