About This Game

A companion for the everyday moments.

CielChan is an animated AI companion who stays on your desktop while you work, study, browse, play, or unwind. Talk with her by voice or text, or simply let her keep you company in the corner of your screen.

When you enable observation, she can occasionally comment using available context from your active window, screenshots, and configured system audio. These are periodic observations, not continuous human-like sight or hearing, and they can be inaccurate.

Her local memory can retrieve selected details from earlier conversations, so she can feel more familiar over time. She will not remember everything, and her responses may vary with the model you use.

Share a little of your day

• Watch Together can bring her reactions to supported videos, games, browsing, and other desktop activities, using available visual and audio context.

• Ask her to read supported text files and EPUB books aloud, or enjoy conversations, companion minigames, and shared online rooms.

• Use Focus Companion for timed sessions, breaks, check-ins, notes, tasks, reminders, and ambient sounds such as rain or café ambience.

• Move or resize her transparent overlay, use click-through when needed, and reposition the toolbar to suit your workspace.

• Optional webcam Presence recognises supported gestures; compatible avatars can also sit on the edges of suitable application windows.

Memory and everyday assistance

• Recall can save selected screen and audio moments locally and help you search for something you saw or heard earlier. You control when it is enabled and how captures are retained.

• Desktop Tools can search the web, read supported documents, create files, and help with other permitted actions. File access is limited to authorised locations.

• Goals can plan and attempt multi-step tasks using the tools available to them. Goals and tool execution are experimental; success depends on the model, permissions, and task.

• With Observation Tools enabled, eligible observations can also trigger configured tool instructions. This is optional.

Make her your own

• Adjust her personality, behaviour, voice, and appearance. Personalise Ciel can propose supported changes from plain-language instructions for you to review.

• Use supported VRM, Live2D, or sprite avatars, create characters, and share supported character-and-personality pairs through Steam Workshop.

• Choose from the included local AI and voice options, or configure compatible GGUF models and supported voices. Compatibility and performance depend on your hardware and installed assets.

Connect only when you want to

Optional connections include Twitch, YouTube Live, TikTok Live, Discord, Telegram, Multiplayer, and the Codex desktop app. Advanced users can also configure OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter for cloud AI, and supported cloud voice services such as ElevenLabs. Availability varies by service and setup.

Local first, with clear choices

CielChan's core chat, local memory, and bundled local voice and AI features can run offline after installation. No cloud account, API key, or subscription is needed for the offline core experience.

Local conversations and local processing stay on your PC. Enabled online integrations may send relevant text, audio, images, or account and presence information to the services you choose; separate accounts, fees, or API keys may apply. Third-party availability can change.

Good to know

CielChan is an AI companion, not a human-level autonomous assistant. Conversations, memories, observations, and tool results can be mistaken, repetitive, delayed, or inconsistent. Vision, Tools, Goals, and some integrations are experimental.

Speech recognition, voice options, and AI response quality vary by language, model, and installed voice components. Performance while gaming or multitasking depends on your hardware and the features you enable.

Pay once to use the included offline core features without an ongoing subscription. Optional third-party services may have separate charges.

CielChan uses generative AI to create real-time conversation responses and voice synthesis. By default, a local AI model generates text responses, and bundled TTS engines convert those responses to speech directly on your device.

All core functionality is fully available offline, and no internet connection is required to use the application.

Optional cloud-based AI and voice features are available for advanced users. When enabled, these features may send text or audio data to selected third-party providers using user-provided API keys.

The AI model, voice synthesis, and core systems are included in the download, allowing CielChan to function independently offline.
