What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have spent many years developing professional railway training simulators, and Smart Train Simulator is our first game for a wider audience. We are entering Early Access with a working, playable version so that we can develop it together with players.

Your feedback, suggestions and bug reports will help us set priorities and refine our roadmap for 2027.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to leave Early Access by the end of 2026. This is an estimated timeframe and may change depending on testing results and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan to improve gameplay, tutorials and ease of use based on player feedback. We will share our detailed plans in a roadmap for 2027 after the Early Access launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a working, playable version of the simulator. The base game includes Moscow Metro Line 7 — the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line — and two trains, the 81-717 and 81-765, with detailed cabs and train safety systems.

We continue to fix bugs and improve the game based on player feedback. Additional Lines 5, 12 and 8A are planned as separate paid DLC and are not included in the base game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will aim to keep the current price after leaving Early Access, although we may review it as the game develops.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will collect feedback, suggestions and bug reports through Steam discussions and our community channels. Player feedback will help us prioritise updates and refine our roadmap. We will share development progress through the game’s news posts.”

About This Game

Take the driver’s seat in Moscow Metro and master two generations of trains. Learn the cab controls, respond to signals, manage traction and braking, and bring your train to a precise stop at the platform. Step out of the cab to explore stations and depots on foot.

Included in Early Access

Moscow Metro Line 7 — the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line — and two generations of trains: the classic 81-717 and modern 81-765. Master both cabs, traction and braking controls, signals and safety systems.

Additional Routes

Lines 5, 12 and 8A are planned as optional paid DLC. They will be sold separately and are not included in the base game.

Mission Types

Early Access includes three mission categories, designed for both learning and mastery:

  • Training Missions
Structured tutorials based on real driver training programs.

  • Story Missions
Narrative-driven scenarios inspired by real operational situations.

  • Linear Missions
Strictly defined routes with schedules, procedures, and objectives.

Expert Missions are planned for after the game’s release and will not be available at the Early Access launch.

Driver Progression

  • Earn experience points and increase your driver level.

  • Rule violations affect scoring: actions that break the rules do not earn points.

Simulation Depth

  • Authentic train physics and braking models

  • Choose weather conditions before starting your journey

  • Detailed stations, depots, and railway environments

  • Ability to leave the cab and explore operational areas
