What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This is something completely new — for us, and for most of the industry. There are a few experimental dark ride–style experiences out there, usually as small parts of other games or as roller coasters and shooters on rails.

But this is a dedicated short-form theme park dark ride. It began as a proof of concept to see if this kind of experience could stand on its own.

Right now, it’s still early. The ride is short, the mechanics aren’t fully refined, and we’re still figuring out the gameplay and what the next steps should be.

That’s why we want players involved. Ride it, test it, and tell us what works and what doesn’t. Your feedback will directly shape where this goes next.

We’re building this together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This particular experience may not stay in Early Access for very long — potentially around six months — but game development can be unpredictable, and it may take longer. Making games is hard, especially when you’re building something new.

Our goal is to keep releasing updated versions based directly on player feedback as we refine the experience.

We also see this as part of something bigger. We plan to cycle different ride experiences in and out of testing, using everything we learn to shape a larger, full Dark Ride game — a small theme park with multiple attractions and an overarching storyline.

Your feedback during Early Access will play a big role in shaping that future.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The thing about a theme park is that everything is modular. One piece on its own might not feel like a complete experience — a single attraction can feel limited. But each part still needs to be great for what it is.

What we’re sharing in Early Access are parts of a much larger plan. This isn’t just about building one ride — it’s about creating an entire theme park experience. The full version is intended to expand significantly, with stronger gameplay systems, deeper interaction, a larger map, improved visual assets, and a more developed backstory that connects everything together.

You’re experiencing early sections of that park now. They’re designed to stand on their own, but they’re also building toward a richer, more cohesive world as development continues and player feedback shapes the direction forward.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It works well on the VR devices we’ve tested so far, but there are many different VR setups out there, and there’s always room for improvement. This Early Access version includes just one section of the park — introducing the art style, the backstory, and the core mechanics.

Right now, it’s meant to be functional and offer a short but enjoyable experience for anyone who wants to step in and try it. From there, we’ll continue refining and expanding based on feedback and further testing across devices.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will charge for the full Dark Ride game. But we want to run several things through Early Access on the way up.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Even having a community around this project would be amazing. If anyone is interested enough to try it and share feedback, we’re all ears.
We’d love to hear from players through any channel possible. The Steam Community Hub and our Discord are the ideal places for detailed feedback and discussion, but reaching out through social media works too — just contact us.

In theme parks, there’s a tradition where selected guests get to ride attractions before the park officially opens. That’s what this is. You’re getting early access to help shape what the park becomes.”
