What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because we want to shape this game with you, the players, by gathering real feedback from real games, full of bluffing, persuasion and hilarious moments.

Early Access allows us to:

Balance the core mechanics — bluffing, scoring, and box-swapping strategy.

Fine-tune the voice chat flow, which is at the heart of player interaction.

Test and expand special cards based on community feedback.

Add more customization options so your little frog can express even more style!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect "Watta Box?" to remain in Early Access for about 6 to 12 months. This timeframe allows us to test, polish and expand the game based on real player feedback, ensuring that the final version is as fun, balanced and chaotic as it’s meant to be.

That said, we’ll be transparent throughout the process. If development needs more time due to valuable community insights or unexpected improvements, we’ll communicate clearly with our players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Watta Box? is planned to include more content, more polish, and a deeper, more dynamic gameplay experience.

Here’s what we aim to expand or improve during Early Access:

- More special cards with unique effects that change the flow of the game.

- Additional customization options for your frog character — outfits, colors, accessories, and animations.

- New gameplay modifiers that introduce twists and new strategies.

- Expanded voice-chat tools to support a smoother, more accessible social experience.

- Improved UI/UX for both contestants and jury roles.

- Balancing and fine-tuning, based on feedback from the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Watta Box? is fully playable and includes the core gameplay loop:

- Online multiplayer matches for 2–6 players.

- Full contestant and jury roles, with all main mechanics implemented.

- Voice chat integration to support persuasion, bluffing, and social interaction.

- A working scoring system based on box content and player choices.

- The neutral box mechanic and box swapping.

- A first set of special cards that introduce fun twists.

- Character customization options with cosmetics for your frog avatar.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price once the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“- Actively listening to feedback via Discord, Steam forums, and social media (TikTok and X).

- Sharing development updates, sneak peeks and patch notes regularly.

- Running polls and feedback surveys to guide decisions on balancing, content and usability.

- Encouraging players to share bugs, ideas and even funny moments — this is a social game, after all!”

About This Game

  • All players start in a shared lobby, where each chooses a box. The player who picks the winning box becomes the first jury member of the game.

  • Each player can customize their character however they like.

  • The game begins: the jury has 30 seconds of one-on-one conversation with each player.

  • There is one neutral box between the jury and contestants that doesn’t belong to anyone—any contestant may ask to peek inside or swap it with their own.

  • After all the one-on-one talks, everyone gets 30 seconds of open group discussion.

  • The jury has 15 seconds to make their final decision.

  • Up to 5 players standing side by side.

  • Each player has a box and can check its contents at any time—just be careful not to let others peek!

  • You may request to view the neutral box or swap it with yours.

  • Speak one-on-one with the jury and try to persuade them to choose your box.

  • Score points if the jury picks your box—or earn a few points just for having a fruit inside, even if you weren’t chosen.

  • Talk to and analyze all contestants.

  • Try to figure out which box contains the fruit.

  • Decide whether or not to let contestants inspect the neutral box.

  • Force someone to swap their box with the neutral one.

  • Choose the box that contains the fruit to earn points.

Watch out! Special modifiers can change the game—like score multipliers, peeking inside certain boxes, reducing another player’s voice chat time, and more!

End the round with a fruit in your box and choose 1 of 3 random cards. Use them before the jury makes their final decision!

Your adorable little froggy is already cute—but why not make them even more unique? Dress them up and customize their look so you can play in style!
