Why Early Access?

“Sector 0 is playable and complete. The movement system, enemy AI, ghost replays, scoring, and all core mechanics are finished and tested. Early access lets players start running levels and setting times while we build out Sectors 1 through 5. We want speedrun route discovery and player feedback shaping the level design for later sectors.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to leave early access by winter 2026. Target window is October 2026 through January 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add Sectors 1 through 5 each with 4 blocks of 5 addresses per block. We plan to add boss encounters at the end of each sector. We plan to add more enemy types, more weapons, and online leaderboards as well as level editing. The movement system, scoring, and ghost replay are already in their final form.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Sector 0, Block A contains 4 playable addresses. There is a tutorial level, two combat gauntlet levels, and a sandbox. All core systems are functional: bhop movement, sliding, enemy AI with speed-based accuracy, ghost recording and replay, reactive skybox, music intensity system, weapon pickups, health and ammo drops, death and win sequences, level select with leaderboards, options menu, and a main menu. The game runs on Windows and perfectly on Proton”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as new sectors are added during Early Access, with the final price set at full launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam discussions/reviews and a Discord server. Level design for Sectors 1 through 5 will be shaped by which routes and mechanics players discover in Sector 0. We read speedrun feedback. If players find a movement tech we didn't plan for, we keep it in.”

ROOTKIT://死 is a cyberpunk extraction runner on Quake's air acceleration model. Speed is your armor

Every level is a gauntlet. Get from the start to the extraction point. Kill what's in the way or outrun it. Your best run records a ghost that races you on your next attempt.

You are...

You are a rootkit named << 死 >> (Death). You broke into the system and the system noticed. Now every process it owns is trying to kill yours. Armed contractors are patrolling the memory blocks. The corridors rearrange to box you in. Firewalls slam shut behind you. You run. You shoot what gets in the way. You extract before the system wipes the address you're standing on. And you most importantly consume every byte of data

  • Bhop, air strafe, crouch-slide, crouch-bhop at 100-tick physics. Hit a ramp right and you can multiply your speed tenfold.

  • Enemy accuracy degrades on a curve from your velocity. They call it out on comms as it happens.

  • Every run records a ghost. Race it on your next attempt. Watch any run back in first person with full bullet tracers.

  • Reactive skybox tracks kills, shots fired, and ghost position live. Music intensity driven by a heat system.
