What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Voltage High Society started as a love letter to 90s cyberpunk, old school FPS games, and body horror. We launched Early Access in July 2022 to build the game alongside player feedback. That feedback shaped combat, exploration flow, and level design in ways we could not have achieved alone. We're now closing in on the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're targeting Q2 2026 for the 1.0 release. The core game is complete. Remaining work is focused on final content, polish, and stability.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The 1.0 release includes:

- Complete story with all narrative threads resolved
- All areas of Nemo Ultra open and connected
- Full roster of monsters and boss fights
- All player upgrades and abilities
- Additional secrets and collectibles
- Final performance and stability pass”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is content-complete at roughly 90%. You can play through the vast majority of Nemo Ultra right now, fight most bosses, and experience the core combat and exploration loop. What remains is the final story content, last round of polish, and remaining secrets.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will stay at $14.99 at 1.0 launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Join our Discord or post in the Steam Community Discussions. Player feedback has directly shaped combat feel, level design, and quality of life features throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

NEMO ULTRA. YOUR PRISON. YOUR PROVING GROUND.

You wake up on a decaying island overrun by cybernetic monsters. No guns. No allies. Just your fists and whatever you can rip from the things trying to kill you.

Voltage High Society is a first-person Metroidvania. Explore 30+ interconnected areas, find weapons and abilities that unlock new paths, and fight your way to freedom through a world inspired by Tetsuo: The Iron Man and Escape from New York.

This is not a shooter with a map. This is a Metroidvania built from the ground up in first person: locked doors, ability gates, backtracking, shortcuts, secrets, and boss fights that test everything you've learned.

PUNCH FIRST. UPGRADE LATER.

Combat starts with your fists. Every new weapon and ability you find changes how you fight and where you can go. Melee-focused first-person combat rewards aggression and positioning, not camping behind cover.

5 LARGE AREAS. ONE CONNECTED WORLD.

Nemo Ultra is a dense, hand-crafted world built for exploration. Dead ends become shortcuts. Locked passages open when you find the right ability. Every zone connects, and the map rewards players who pay attention.

BODY HORROR MEETS RETRO GRIT

The visual style blends PS1-era retro aesthetics with modern lighting and creature design. Dark, oppressive corridors open into neon-lit arenas. The monsters are grotesque, the atmosphere is thick, and the world feels like a place that existed before you got there.

YOUR BODY IS YOUR PROGRESSION

New abilities are not just combat upgrades. They're keys to the world. Every power you gain reopens areas you've already explored, revealing hidden routes and secrets you missed the first time through.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Fighting against cybernetic monsters and frightening sequences.
