What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Hello from RITM, the small studio developing Inferno Arena. We are making Inferno Arena available as an alpha quality release with limited features to help gather feedback from players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We will be staying in Early Access until Inferno Arena is well honed by the feedback we receive. This should take at least 6 months but more likely a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access is an alpha-quality release without finalized mechanics. We will have a rolling release of new ships, weapons, equipment, and features. Here are some key differences between Early Access and Final Release:

  • Early Access will be initially released with a Team Death Match game mode, in lieu of the final release's Tug-of-War/MOBA game mode. The Tug of War mode will be released in Early Access prior to Final Release.
  • Early Access will initially have one ship and two weapons that can not be configured. The "MAV Hangar" ship editor with multiple ships and list of equipment will be added to Early Access prior to Final Release.
  • Early Access will feature a ranking system tied to your steam account to aid in matchmaking. During Early Access and prior to Final Release, granular stat tracking and leaderboards will be added.
  • Early Access will feature Quick Play lobby matchmaking. Prior to full release, 5 player squadrons will be added so you can queue with your Steam Friends.
  • Early Access will feature bare bones options configuration. Additional options such as keybinding, reticle configuration, and more will be added prior to Final Release.

Additionally here are features that will not initially be in Early Access but will be added prior to Final Release:

  • Match rewards including random salvage. Salvage are broken weapons and equipment that can be sold for non-premium currency or repaired using non-premium currency. Salvage will feature a stat randomization system that adds positive and negative characteristics to weapons so all weapons are side-grades, but your MAV build can be optimized with specific compromises you need to grind for. Starter equipment will be designed to be competitive at the highest level, but not optimized for specific min-maxed play-styles that require grinded equipment.
  • Premium cosmetics, ships, weapons, and equipment. All premium equipment will be either cosmetic or side grades for grind-able equipment. To repeat: No pay to win will ever be in Inferno Arena. Exclusive early adopter cosmetics, ships, and equipment will be available in Early Access that will persist into release.
  • Spectator system with features designed for creating Twitch commentary broadcasts.
  • Cloud-saved match replay system for rewatching select high-ELO matches.
  • Marketplace integration so you can sell rare items you have found, and buy items you want to complete a build in lieu of grinding.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Inferno Arena Early Access is a free-to-play alpha-quality release. Please be warned the current state of the game features a considerable amount of bugs and minimal features as we are still in the middle of development. The aim of our Early Access build is to give the community a chance to help shape the game as early as possible.

Note: We will offer nothing for sale until we are confident the game is able to deliver a reliable, high quality experience. This will likely be when a beta-quality release has been achieved after several months of development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Early Access and Release will share the same free-to-play model. All content purchased in Early Access will be available in the final release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be actively monitoring the community for feedback on game mechanics and bug reports. Your feedback will critical to our decisions balancing ships and equipment throughout Early Access. We will announce our community Discord where you can post your feedback and discuss changes when Early Access begins.”
