Why Early Access?

“Paralives has been developed alongside our community since the very beginning, and we want to keep working with everyone during the project's next steps. As dedicated life simulation game fans, we created Paralives to innovate and offer a new take on the genre, whether it's through flexible building tools, a character creator full of customization, or new and engaging life simulation gameplay mechanics.

Releasing in Early Access will allow people to play with the features and systems we have developed, and provide us with crucial feedback to help refine and improve what we have into a truly great and unique experience. Because we're a small team and the breadth and depth of things you can do in a game like Paralives is staggering, this feels like the best option for us.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About two years, considering all the features and content we want to add before we can say that we've hit version 1.0. We'll also certainly have many other improvements and changes to make along the way. In short, this estimated timeframe seems reasonable to us right now, but it's always subject to change!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan on adding more features such as pets, cars, houseboats, and a town creation tool, as well as more content in each of the game's systems such as more furniture, clothes, personality traits, social interactions, skills, town activities, and more. What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“There's currently quite a bit to do in the game. You can build and decorate houses with various customization options, a color wheel, and resizable furniture, among other things. You can create a diverse cast of characters using our creation tools and extensive clothing catalog, and then make them live their lives in our open-world town where they'll find a job, nurture relationships, improve skills, and more!

Some bugs will be present, some features might not be entirely balanced, and some content might be missing here and there, due to the nature of an Early Access release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be sold at a discount throughout Early Access, with the price increasing gradually as we add more content until full release. However, we have pledged to never release paid DLCs: there will only ever be free updates!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“No matter what avenue you use to reach us - through the Steam forums, by email, or through our Discord server - we will listen to feedback, suggestions, comments, and bug reports with the utmost attentiveness, just like we've always done during the development process. Our community is the lifeblood that will sustain our Early Access evolution into a game everyone can enjoy. On our end, we'll be transparent about what we're working on and the issues we're tackling at any given time. We'll also continue to give the community an evolving roadmap of our progress so everyone can track how things are going.”
