Gamespy.com - Adventure Game of the Year - "Dreamfall stands so far out of the pack, we believe it would have been a stellar candidate no matter what year it was released". If gaming is ever to be more than merely colored lights and sensation, though, it needs these types of experimental projects to move forward. Gaming may not yet be "art," but with Dreamfall, we're one step closer"

This is a great adventure game with puzzles that challenge the brain and exercise the fingers! I really do enjoy the scenery while playing this game, the music is pretty nice, and it seems that the story has entertainment potential for the future. I look forward to putting more hours in before too long. I like it. So will you, probably. Just don't expect a lot of awesome fighting sequences.

If you played The Longest Journey for this game (and you should), it kind of follows the narrative from the predecessor, giving clousure to some matters and opening new questions. The camera can get a bit jammed sometimes, but it's not a game-breaker. The voice acting, following its predecessor, is terrific!

The storyline is great, and unlike the first one, I never had a problem getting stuck in a place, the puzzles are quite easy and the game is fluid. The mysterious Arcadia is shown now in more perspectives since the game has a moving camera, but also because people have more to tell depending on who you are.

So yeah, I recommend this game and I'm looking forward to Dreamfall Chapters!

A really great sequel to TLJ with wonderful characters and a great story. Just like the first one, the storytelling is amazing and the characterization and development is really top notch. It's a bit more interactive than the first one since you use WASD to move and sometimes have to sneak/hide. The combat system is lame, but that doesn't seem to matter in the face of everything else the game offers. Highly recommended.

If story is your main focus in a game, there are few better suited to your needs than this one.
The story is gripping, the characters feel three-dimensional, and the voice-acting is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum.
This game is a sequel to The Longest Journey, and prior knowledge of that game is beneficial, but not necessary.
I did have an issue with the ending, as it felt a little underwhelming, with some intriguing plot points being introduced without a proper resolution.
That said, overall this is a well-written game in a well-written world that is well worth your time.

I was a big fan of the original game and I hate to compare to the original but I won't. The original was far better, longer and well written. The reasons Dreamfall falls down is simple, controls and writing. They completely changed the control of the original and added in some weird fighting system which is very awkward. Apparently this game was ported to the xbox or more likely ported over from xbox to pc because the controls are awful. Some of the writing isn't great either, while the story is interesting some of the characters come across very shallow. The ackgrounds are still awesome. The models are improved on. But I can't forgive this game for the controls and writing. I would only recommend this to hardcore fans who really need their fix or to new comers to point and clicks because it isn't much of a challenge.

+ fantastic presentation, cinematic feeling, great voice acting, great soundtrack
+ awesome story with many twists, fantastic dialogues
+ likeable main character, you get to bond with her
+ although in 3d person, good controls overall

- basic gameplay, more are inventory based puzzles which are fine, but the stealth gameplay is very basic and irritating at times, so are the fighting sequences
- not as good as the original gameplay wise, although the story is better in dreamfall imo and that's why i give it a solid 9
