A very cool game. Rather short (8 h on normal), but plenty of fun. In the beginning, it may seem like a horror game, but it is not.

Singularity is ambitious. Singularity wants to play all sides of the field. Singularity wants to create an engaging and comprehensive FPS experience. Unfortunately for Singularity, it seems far too hollow to be great.

This game isn't just a FPS. It is THE FPS. It is quintessential in all ways. Everything that embodies modern first person gaming is here and accounted for. The only notable exceptions are chest high walls and turret sections. If you've played half life, or call of duty, then you've seen all this game has to offer. Nothing at all will surprise you here. You're better off looking elsewhere if you want an interesting first person shooter.

Everything is just so standard. Singularity doesn't take any risks with the formula we're all familiar with. In fact, it seems proud of its influences. The protagonist is silent but gifted soldier who must save the world from countless monsters, the big bad guy, and droves of opposing soldiers. But wait, this protagonist has the power of a magic doohickey that can grab objects and alter the environment to solve basic puzzles. And also there's a scientist, and a secondary female character that shows up sometimes.

Nothing is interesting about this game. It seems unable to make up its mind. Its hard to give complements after braving the constant, and I mean CONSTANT audio logs & mundane written notes lying around, the enemies that repeat the same two battlecries, a myriad of jumpscares; (or what I only could assume were supposed to be jumpscares,) a handful of unique enemy types, and a story that left me confused and annoyed. The game tired, I guess. But how many times can I see ghostly scenes of generic russian man #34 screaming, running away from something, or dying randomly before I just get bored and play something more effective at horror and a first person shooter experience. By the end of the game, I just wanted it to end. Not only did I stop paying attention to the plot, I had taken to throwing myself head first into enemies, which was just about the most significant source of fun this game has to offer. There are many better first person shooters to play.

Great game a lot of fun. the story i found kept me interested for the most part. One of the things i liked about it was it was very much on rails type of thing. It seems like so many of the new games are so open world it was nice to just sit back and enjoy the ride, shoot some baddies with a fun power glove giving different abilities. It was one of those games that i never really wanted to play but once id convince myself to load it up id play it for a few hours having fun the whole time.

Summary: Fun game with an interesting time manipulation mechanic, and solid storyline.

This game is getting a little older now, and the graphics aren't the latest and the greatest. With that said, it does look very nice in spots, and the graphics do a good job of serving the story and gameplay. The story is interesting and has some great plot twists. The time manipulation mechanic is what really makes this game interesting. You can use the Time Manipulation Device to manipulate time in ways like aging an enemy instantly (and killing them of course), restoring elements in the environment that were destroyed in the past, etc. The campaign was a little short, but honestly I don't mind that as I don't have time to sink hundreds of hours into a game.

Overall Score: 7.5/10

This game is dope! It's a very good first person shooter with sci fi elements of time travel/manipulation. The story is good, the atmosphere is amazing and a ton of fun. Don't doubt to grab this game!

Singularity is a game about war and time travel, but it isn't a generic rebrand on the story like a lot of other games centered around war and time travel in the genre are. The game is centered around an American soldier who gains control of a time manipulation device, more commonly known as the T.M.D. and changes the history as well as the future in his mission to save the world from a rip in time called a singularity.

Pros:
  • Rich in story
  • Lots of weapons
  • T.M.D. is a wonderful weapon/feature
  • Nice list of characters and development of characters
  • Cool WW2 era art style
  • Good story/plot development
  • Lots of locations to explore throughout the world

Cons:
  • Extremely short game
  • Kind of hard story to follow
  • Repetitive enemy spawns/types nearer to end game
  • Somewhat linear at points

This game is a ton of fun for the money I paid for it (got it on a Steam sale) and the story is worth it. I think the game would benefit from more play time and a less linear expierence.

7.5 The game is fun, and it well worth playing, but seeing how short the game is and the repetitiveness of some of the enemies near end game, I think the score is justified.

SPOILER BELOW:
There are 4 endings to this game.

1.) Kill the scientist and side with the dictator (bad in my opinion since he ends up ruiling the world and spreading communism)

2.) Kill the dictator and side with the scientist (less bad than the first ending, but seeing as the scientist takes the T.M.D. and uses its power of time control to bend people to his will, its still bad even if he does it for the good of the people)

3.) Listen to scientist and go back in time and kill yourself (fixes the timeline, but you die because the scientist ♥♥♥♥ed up and told you the wrong things to fix the singularity)

4.) Kill both the scientist and the dictator and live your life in solitude until later... (this in my opinion is the best ending becuase you fix the timeline, end the scientist so that he can't use the T.M.D. to control people, you kill the dictator so that he can't use the T.M.D. to spread his rule and communism, you fix the singularity, and finally you get to keep the T.M.D. and later come to rule what we now know as America)
