[April Fools] 100% Orange Juice v2.0 ~The Poppoing~ Preview

After weeks of extensive testing, we are proud to finally introduce our upcoming patch 2.0 for 100% Orange Juice.

In many ways, as befits the version number, this build finally encompasses our vision of how we always wanted 100% Orange Juice to be.

Changes:

– Added a new boss character, Big Poppo. Big Poppo has a 10x Player Level chance of appearing for non-Poppo players in place of another boss when encountering one on any map. Any stars lost to Big Poppo will be distributed between Poppo players in the game.

– Added a new map: Poppo Paradise. On Poppo Paradise, all CPU characters will be Poppos. Poppo Paradise replaces all previous starting maps.

– Added a new field effect: Poppogeddon. Every 6 turns, all non-Poppo players are assaulted by Big Poppo. Poppogeddon has a 50% chance to steal another field event’s place when not chosen for the map.

– Added a new panel: P-panel. If a Poppo lands on P-panel, they will cast Ubiquitous on all non-Poppo players in turn (they do not need to carry Ubiquitous). If a non-Poppo player lands on P-panel, all Poppos in the game cast Ubiquitous on them.

– Using Ubiquitous on Kai now steals their player’s credit card info, instead of their wallet as previously.

Fixes:

– Corrected the tooltip for Ubiquitous to reflect the actual effect. New description: “Move to target unit’s panel. In addition, steal 10% x their level of their player’s soul.”

Barring any technical difficulties, version 2.0 ~The Poppoing~ will roll out on Steam very shortly. We are very excited to see the reception.

This game is surprisingly deep. The "cards" are integrated into the gameplay in such a way that they benefit other players the same way they benefit you, so the trick to "deck building" is figuring out which cards are disproportionately favourable to your character. As for the actual gameplay, there's a high amount of randomness involved but you have to learn how to play the odds. This is far from just RNG, the game actually has a pretty high skill ceiling.

It's also really fun because no matter how good you are at it, there is enough randomness that everyone still has a pretty fair shot at taking you down. Losing is rarely frustrating and usually hilarious, which is part of the charm of 4-player games.

I can't recommend this game enough, it's much more than just a Mario Party clone. Shoot me a message if you want someone to play with.

A board game that relies completely upon one's ability to simply admit defeat from the get-go. You will go into this game expecting a fairly innocuous and casual romp best enjoyed with friends, and leave it screaming like an animal, cursing your very existence along with anyone who has wronged you while playing. Expect nothing and remember that when you're in the lead, your demise is right around the corner.

After hours of playing this game online, I've adopted an almost zen stoicism; if I'm two tiles away from completing an objective, I know I'll roll a one and get warped to the other edge of the map. I'm a changed man. 100% Orange Juice has lead me to renounce all expectation and desire, and to assume the worst from every situation.

A fun, lighthearted board game for enjoyment with friends, 10/10.

I promised myself that I would review this once my playtime hits 300 hours.

...

I have no excuse.
I don't even know what I used to play before.
Sometimes I think that my life would be easier without 100% OJ.

But then I look at my 30 or so new friends I would have never met without it, all the other Orange Juice games I would have never played without it and all the awesome achievements I would have never got without it.

And I realize that I don't even care~~

10/10

Not too sure what to write here so heres a recipe for Pancakes instead

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups milk, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more as needed

Now to make it
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the milk and vanilla.
3. Melt the butter in a large cast iron skillet or griddle over medium heat.
4. Whisk the butter into the milk mixture. Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, and whisk until a thick batter is just formed
5. Keeping the skillet at medium heat, ladle about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet, to make a pancake. Make 1 or 2 more pancakes, taking care to keep them evenly spaced apart. Cook, until bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, and the undersides are golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip with a spatula and cook about 1 minute more on the second side. Serve immediately or transfer to a platter and cover loosely with foil to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.
6. Procedure for adding fruit to pancakes: Once the bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, scatter the surface with sliced or diced fruit, or chocolate chips, nuts, etc. Flip with a spatula and cook for 1 minute more, being careful not to burn toppings.

Goes great with some orange juice!

One day, you might find yourself browsing the Steam store. On this day, you may stumble apon a weird game called 100% Orange Juice. When presented with this title, the first thought through your mind will probably be : "Wat."

Do not be alarmed, this is a normal reaction. It was my reaction, and the reaction of many others who would soon take the journey through Orange Juice together. A game that you buy as a joke, because it looks silly. A game that you continue playing after one match, because it looks interesting. A game that absorbs you, takes control of your gaming habits, and gives you the most fun boardgame experience of your life.

This is the story of 100% Orange Juice. A game about chibi-anime videogame characters that murder each other in cold blood to get stars and be the first to reach level 6. A game so heavily reliant on RNG that you will go from praising the lord RNGeezus to cursing all that is holy within a matter of seconds.

The game is repetitive, without a doubt. Each match has the same objective - collect stars or beat enemies, and land on a home space to level up. First person to do this five times wins the match. So what makes it so replayable, so enjoyable, so...citrus-y? The online mode, somehow. Playing with friends and strangers alike over the internet, with weird characters and a constantly changing goal in mind (thanks to the disgustingly RNG-reliant system for EVERYTHING) really makes this game one that you can play over and over without ever really getting tired of the concept. The game doesn't have many, if any bugs. The developers clearly care and add new content at a lively pace. The community is friendly, and the experience unique.

A great experience that most videogame-enthusiasts should give a shot - especially for the low price of $6.

A very fun game, specially for multiplayer, with a very friendly community.

It takes a Mario Party-esque formula and replaces the minigames with a card and a combat system. Players will be laying trap cards, using combat cards and changing the flow of the game in order to grab stars or defeat other players and monsters,

Each characters has his own unique attributes (HP, attack, defense and evade) and a unique Hyper! card, favoring some specific playstyle. Players will build their decks that will get mixed, meaning a player can get a card from any other player's deck.

Campaign mode features a very silly story with charismatic and cute characters.

However, it is a very luck based game, and, at least on campaign mode, the AI will cheat on the dice rolls. Be prepared to lose from advantageous situations due to sheer bad luck and AI cheapness.

Still, this doesn't stop 100% Orange Juice from being a very fun game to play!
