Recenzje

“One Finger Death Punch is an enormously generous and exhilarating combat game - one whose capacity for expression and mastery is far broader than its simplistic appearance suggests.”
9/10 – Eurogamer

“One Finger Death Punch is a game that one must definitely play in order to understand and judge it. This is all about the feel, and there’s so much of it as you play it more and more.”
9/10 – Cheat Masters

“The game is an instant classic. There’s not a mark to be said against it. It excels in every possible way, challenging the best of us while still remaining pick-up-and-play enough that literally anyone could start in on it, and subsequently get hopelessly addicted.”
5/5 – the XBLIG

O tej grze

Experience cinematic kung-fu battles in the fastest, most intense brawler the indie world has ever seen! With the unique 1:1 response system of One Finger Death Punch, players will feel the immediate feedback of every bone-crunching hit.

Pay tribute to the masters using five classic kung-fu styles mixed with additional weapons. Combine face-to-face combat with throwing weapons to recreate complex fight choreographies or just send bad guys flying through glass windows. Explore a world map with over 250 stages, 13 modes, and 3 difficulty levels. Unlock 21 different skills that can be combined in thousands of ways to assist you in your journey. Put your kung-fu to the ultimate test in the survival mode.

One Finger Death Punch is a game you can “feel”. The direct connection between your mouse and your character on the screen will be a new experience for many players. When you string together a long, complex string of kills, it feels like something “you” did rather than something the game let you do. When you play it you feel like you’re actually playing a Xiao Xiao stick animation video. We took inspiration from every kung-fu film we’ve seen. Every bit of effort was poured into delivering an easy to play game that was as addictive to play as Tetris.

Every Press Matters! DO NOT BUTTON MASH!

One of the biggest challenges we had while making the game is stopping the player from button mashing. When our friends play tested our game they’d instinctively button mash, they couldn’t help themselves. It must have been the many years of playing other brawlers that engraved it in their minds the notion of rapidly pressing buttons to kill your foes. The game’s designed in such a way that if you button mash, you die. Every press matters. Although playing the game should still be simple, you see a bad guy in front of you, you attack him, he dies. If you punch even once when there’s no enemy in front of you, you’re going to miss. If you miss, chances are you’re going to get hit. It’s a simple system but it’s ruthless to button mashers. We spent much time setting up visual and audio queues as well as many warnings trying to steer players away from their natural button mashing tendencies.

REVIEW
One Finger Death Punch is an instant-classic indie game that marries elements of complexity and simplicity in its own unique and intriguing way. It’s the kind of game that is simple enough for anyone to pick-up and start playing, while also having the depth, intricacy, and difficulty capabilities to beguile even the most hardcore gamers.

The identity of the game begins with the minimalist art direction and uncomplicated control scheme. The gameplay consists of timing your pressing of 2 buttons (either on a keyboard, mouse, or gamepad) while your stick-figure character beats the devil out of other stick-figure characters in choreographed kung-fu animations... in the style made popular by the Xiao Xiao shorts that you may have seen on websites like Newgrounds.

This overly-simple style is welcoming to any gamer who may want to try it. Once you become inevitably addicted, the game will continuously scale its speed to your ability in an attempt to allow you to make it as challenging or easy as you want/need. If you desire a real challenge, you can try to beat all levels without any mistakes and/or without taking any damage. Or, you can play survival modes and try to get as far as you can before the sheer speed of the game overwhelms you and the hand-eye reflex center of your brain explodes.

Regardless of what level of intensity/difficulty you choose to experience the game at, you should find plenty of ways to have some fun. To keep things from growing boring while you traverse the huge world-map of the campaign, there are many different game mode variations from level to level. You can also choose to explore branching paths to unlock new abilities, or beeline to the end if you want to just take on the boss.

Also, to ensure that the most addicted of gamers have plenty to work for, the “Mastery” system can provide hours of playtime as you grind out more and more high scores to raise your point total. You also can compete with your friends on leaderboards to show off your pro-gaming skills.

In short, One Finger Death Punch is a great game to check out if you are looking for something novel and different to experience. And if you only try a few indie games a year, this deserves to be one of them.

This is currently the highest rated game on Steam, and although it isn't my personal favorite game on Steam, it is definitely an amazingly FUN game. You only use the left and right mouse button to fight -- you don't even move the mouse. (So really this should be named Two Finger Death Punch.) This is simple to learn but difficult to master due to a few challenges: timing the button presses, varying enemy behavior, and the speed of the game (which increases as your progress). The game also has different mini-games and intense achievements giving you both variety and fun challenges. If that is not enough, the soundtrack is very enjoyable as is the in-game sense of humor. You should get this game if the trailers look appealing and you enjoy fast paced games. Without question this game will give you a mental workout.
