Crimsonland gets Steam Cloud support

Good news: We've updated Crimsonland with Steam Cloud support! The support should be available on all platforms. Let us know if you experience any problems. We're also working on another update which features fixes done for the Xbox One version which was released a few weeks ago. And thanks to you all for playing Crimsonland!

Neon Chrome - a top-down cyberpunk shooter from 10tons

So, as some of you know, we're working on a new top-down shooter called Neon Chrome. This time we wanted to make the shooting happen indoors and in a cyberpunk world. This means lots of neon lights, cybernetics and that you can demolish a building from the inside out with guns and explosives. I must say it's extremely fun and satisfying already.

We've released some material from Neon Chrome lately and we're hoping to go to Greenlight within two months. Meanwhile go to to see videos and other material. While you can do that, we'll be working on the game :)

Thousands of aliens, zombies, giant spiders, mutant lizards, and more are on the attack - can you survive the onslaught? In Crimsonland you will unlock new weapons and perks constantly improving your abilities and arsenal. Your screen will be filled with literally hundreds of monsters and thousands of giblets. Grab your gun and prepare for endless hours of intense top-down shooter fun!

The original Crimsonland was released in 2003. After the game was greenlit at the end of 2013, 10tons decided to give the game a complete tune-up. The brand new 2014 version introduces countless gameplay fixes, a new chapter with new enemies, new perks, and new weapons. On top of that we've done a complete art overhaul!

What are perks? Perks are like talents in an RPG game. You earn XP by killing monsters and with XP you earn levels. After leveling up you get to choose a perk. For example, a perk called Fastloader enables you to reload extremely fast. During a session perks will stack up a and every game will be a bit different. You'll unlock perks during the quest mode after which they become available in the survival game modes.

We've created a huge arsenal of 30 unique weapons ranging from the humble pistol to the mysterious Shrinkifier 5k. The weapons are unlocked by playing the quest mode and they become available in survival game modes as well. The better your arsenal - the better chances you have at scoring higher outside the quest mode.

Crimsonland features up to four player local co-op. All game modes including the quest can be played in co-op mode. There are also separate leaderboards for co-op games so gather your friends and show the internet who wields the gauss shotgun like a pro!

Una joya de juego, ha mejorado un montón con respecto al antiguo que salió por 2003 si no me equivoco (aunque en realidad lo jugué por 2008).
Llega a ser un poco frustrante en cierto punto, hay pantallas que son extremadamente difíciles, pero es una total satisfacción pasarlas.
Una pena que los records en el modo survival sean una exageración y por lo que veo son records cheteados a lo que es imposible poder llegar a alcanzarlos.
Tiene un montón de modos de juegos por lo que no se vuelve tan monótono.
También cuenta con una gran variedad de enemigos, desde arañas, zombies, aliens y muchas otras criaturas de todos los tipos y colores.
No podría faltar nombrar la cantidad de armas que hay, y es que son impresionantes, habiendo las clásicas como las pistolas, metralletas, escopetas, bazookas, lanzallamas, hasta pistolas que lanzan ondas de sonido, bazookas de 6 disparos a la vez, metralletas con munición eléctrica, y algunas que ni sé como ♥♥♥♥♥♥s nombrarlas. A pesar de eso, no vas a contar con todas las armas en el momento, tienes que ir cogiendolas a medida que aparecen en el mapa matando a un enemigo y en orden aleatorio, por lo que muchas veces toca dudar si cambiar de arma o no.

-La variedad de enemigos.
-La variedad de armas y mejoras temporales.
-Muchos modos de juego.
-La música, aunque no sea variada está muy buena.
-El detale gráfico.
-Modo coop local.

-El precio (aunque se puede conseguir muy barato por cualquier lado)
-Los records del modo survival están fuera de tema.

this is a top down shooter.
there are 6 Levels with 10 boards each (so 60 in all) and 3 difficulties.
each board has a set type and number of enemies you must kill.
you get 30 different guns, 5+ power-ups, & tones of perks.
your guy does move as fast as a snail but the enemies do also so i guess it works.
most of your deaths will be to the random gun that drops and trying to go knee deep in enemies for a power-up.

For me there are a few points that make this not quite as compelling as the original version.
But it's still Crimsonland; it's still fun and better than most other games of the style.

I really wanted to like this game. I played the original version in 2003 and loved it. Now 80% of the time I spend playing Crimsonland I am angry or frustrated or both.

I don't know exactly what changed (aside fromt the obvious nerf to the Telekinetic-Perk). Maybe I as a player have a different approach to games now. Back then it might have been less important to me to finish a game 100% before playing something else.
Now I mostly strife for completion or at least getting as close as I can. And in the case of Crimsonland that turned out to be an incredible pain in the behind.

So maybe it's due to my attitude and not to questionable gamedesign but my experience with this new iteration of Crimsonland was mostly unpleasant.

What bugged me most was the random factor when it comes to your weaponry. In most levels and Survival runs you start with the pistol and one of the first 3 or 4 monsters you slay will drop another gun. This game has alot of weapons. Most of those are way underpowered. If they were better balanced or if I as a player had at least some kind of influence over which drops I see and which I won't see, that would make a huge difference. Restarting a level over and over again until finally one of those 5 or 6 viable weapons pop up is NOT fun. In most levels that is not necessary but trying to complete the harder ones with a suboptimal gun is just a waste of time.

I have to say though, the carnage and frenzy of the original are still there. The soundtrack is awesome and if you get one of those (sadly) rare runs where everything falls into place and you get the right weapons, perks and drops in the right moment then it is indeed a wonderful experience. Full of bloody gore, splattered enemy-corpses and agonized screams.
