“Each time the protagonist dies, you find yourself coming back with a vengeance, determined to try a new strategy, a different approach to her upbringing. It's borderline addictive. It's also likely to make a monster out of you. By the end of my first successful playthrough, I had summarily butchered everyone who even thought about looking at us funny, forced the princess into a continuous state of docility and lied my way through every social encounter possible. Was it evil? Yes. Was it glorious? Definitely.”

“Somehow it never occurred to my princess, whom I’d lovingly crafted into a tense, paranoid warlord, that she shouldn’t empty a box of mysterious mailcandy into her mouth. You would think studying poison and espionage would have saved me from this espionage poison, but instead, a list of other skills, skills I never studied, princess skills, were key to avoiding this fate. I guess that’s the lesson: you can’t build a successful Arya without adding a little Sansa.”

“If you’re the sort who can sink your teeth into a full afternoon of tabletop strategy, you’ll be happy here. Long Live The Queen is a slow-paced, cozy evening kind of game, good for folks who like numbers and critical thinking. And death. Pink frosted, chubby cheeked death.”

Rule the world or die trying!

Being a Princess is not an easy job. Being a Queen is even harder. Especially when you're only fourteen years old, and the reason you've inherited the throne is that your royal mother has just met an untimely end.

Now power is up for grabs. You may be the official heir, but much of the country's nobility would love to steal the throne for themselves. Aggressive neighbors will take advantage of any weakness to enlarge their borders at your expense. And that's not even mentioning the magical dangers which are lying in wait...

Can you survive long enough to reach your coronation?

Leuke game. Je moet er wel van houden. Het geeft een beetje een visual novel idee qua uiterlijk maar dat is het niet. Je moet echt stappen ondernemen om de princes dingen te leren enzo. Het is echt supercute and I like it! Er zit niet veel animatie in de game of iets dergelijks. Je moet het een beetje zien als het bouwen van je eigen verhaal :3

Mijn score: 8/10

Tip: Kopen!! Maar je moet er wel een beetje van houden.

Nice game but lacks replay value. Its more of a casual game I think. I bought it but its not worth 9 euros.

This game is a mixed bag. It's very fun and easy to get addicted to, but it might not make you come back once you've gotten to know all the different paths.

The danger that lurks behind every corner will make you sit on the edge of your seat once you're nearing coronation day. Deaths do often feel fair, but there are some exceptions. It won't frustrate you(for long) though, because you'll find yourself tackling this game again right after.

The price as it is now may be a little steep, but it's definatly worth it. If you find it too expensive I implore you to get it on sale. I know I've played titles that are much more expensive and were much shorter. That said, I'm still not done with this game at all.

It would be cool if this game would somehow get an expansion. I'm not sure if there are plans for it, but DLC would do this game good.

One final tip, do not look up maps, routes, point distrubution minmaxing because this will spoil the biggest gameplay component for you. Don't be that person. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be going for another round.

This game is enjoyable, but the paths you can take (if you want your character to survive until coronation) are a little bit more limited than I thought. Some events will occur no matter what choices you made previously, even pretty late in the game, which means that you spend a significant part of each new game developing the same skills again and again. Also, there are skills that are barely relevant, except for some minor events. You can develop them, but they may take away precious time from learning the more esssential skills. This combination of limiting factors really diminishes the replay value of the game. I'm glad I only paid half price for it. It's a fun game to play for a little while, but it would benefit from a better balance between skills and some more variety in the sequence of events. I would recommend this for people who already know they enjoy this type of choice based game, but I would also recommend waiting for a sale to buy it.
