Über das Spiel

The Devil has converted a tenement building into monsters-only housing in Unholy Heights, a mashup of Tower Defense and Apartment Management Simulation. Sucker monsters into moving into your building, charge them rent and keep them happy by buying them furniture.

Unfortunately, heroes have caught wind of the Devil's plan, and will stop at nothing to wipe him out. Knock on residents' doors to call them to battle, trap heroes in devious pincer formations, and command your troops to victory. Monsters get jobs, fall in love, have children, and even skip out on their rent. Keep them happy or you might not have anyone to fight for you when heroes come knocking.

Being a landlord is a difficult job, but it can't be harder than running Hell...right?

This game is fun. That's about the best word for it I suppose. The story is something else, you're the devil, and one day you decide to buy an apartment building to help fund your evil schemes and whatever. This game is sort of an apartmen managment sim mixed with a tower defense, you have to get monsters to move in and take care of their needs, while choosing which ones you send to fight the human menace!

The graphics are nothing to write home about, but I like the simplicity and think they add to the charm of the game, it's kind of like a Deviantart chibi fanartist's wet dream. The music is also pretty cool, all the tunes (except the boss music) kind of remind me of the Animal Crossing soundtrack, simple and sweet.

The monsters in the game are all unique, they have stats, wants, and even jobs. It's definitely nerve racking to have to fight a boss when your main tanks are out on their paper routes. The monsters types are all unique as well, the Helmcheepies are melee monsters, but when they attack they shoot a projectile that passes through enemies. And the Zombies have a life-leech ability to keep them fighting.

Overall, if you want to buy this game, do. It's four dollars and has plenty of stuff for both casual and hardcore gamers, along with replay value that won't wear off until your third playthrough. If you want to buy it, happy apartment managing!

A building management sim combined with action/RTS gameplay, all with a cute and original storyline - you're the devil, renting rooms to monsters, who then need to fight in order to repel adventurers and such. Not a masterpiece, but definitely a fun game to play. Worth getting when on a decent discount.

If anything gives an Animal Crossing gaming experience in [my] steam backlog that is surely Unholy Heights. It feels more action packed though. Game does incorporate TD mechanics in a very fresh way like pixel mosters for reference. As far as appartment manager goes UH also gives opportunity to try out breeding stuff a la Tamagochi series.
Cool game, recommend it.
