- If the Lich dies for the first time and cannot come back because the buildings are already destroyed, the boss-button does not disappear correctly (was solved by saving and loading game)
- Act “Save Westguard” is now removed from active questbook

Stepping Stones

+ Zerbo’s Island: Now it will be easier to get through the town. We removed the fog of war on all levels of difficulty except very hard.
- fixed a problem with the orc buildings in the Ninth Trial (Zarach’s Island)

Realm of the Gods

- The Crystal that starts the Twiddle-questarc is very difficult to find
- Zarach, who should be the one blessing an amulet for Nightsong, is not available on the map. (Blessed World)


- Lenya-flowers aren’t collectible
- First lever has “no string” as description/name
- Ice Gargoyles in the Dracon camp aren’t attacking any enemies (i.e. are letting themselves being killed).
+ The demons still manage to destroy most of the bases of the Archon and Sinistrim. Note: We placed defensive-towers within their camps.
- The remaining leader retains his/her exclamation mark after giving the portal-key to the player – and when talked to, the dialogue is the same as before


- Second seal can be found before Sariel, Ayro and Shae arrive, thus blocking the progress
- Sariels Avatar in the fight within her mind is called “Großen Wolfes” (as in “Geist des Großen Wolfes” or in English “Spirit of the Great Wolf”)
- Somewhere near the destroyed towers there should be the pieces of armour of the Ravages killed when the soulcarrier battled Malacay in Steelcoast. It was not to be found.

Shadow Realm

- fixed the whole Nightsong-Quest

Icewastes of Shalibar

- No frozen fish can be found (Frozen World)
- It is possible to leave the Icewastes without activating the Journeystone. This makes it impossible to return there.
Fix: Automatically activate the Journeystone with the initial cutscene.
- Outcries about the Giant Wolf only start when the player is standing right in front of him.
- The Giant Wolf (in German) has the description and name “no string”.
- Respawn of Wolves should stop (storywise) after the Giant wolf is killed
- Icegargoyles aren’t attacking any enemies - useless.
+ The rainbow-golem and/or the crystal guardians are now a real challenge on very hard.
- It is possible from certain angles, to send flying units over the maze and loot the chest inside without having to solve the puzzle.

Plains of Argan

+ Camps of Shaikan and Realm are too weak to withstand even basic Nameless attacks. Player becomes stretched between protecting his own base and the other bases.
Fix: Either more or stronger units for those bases or more and stronger towers.
- fixed the whole Twiddle-Quest
- It is possible to block Zazhuts path with the gates of Argan. If they are closed when the final battle starts, and the player uses journeystones to jump to one of the other camps, Zazhut cannot follow.
Fix: Either prevent usage of journeystones completely or open the gates of Argan and prevent dialogue to close the gates.

- The Armory of Eo-achievement was given before all of the set items are in the inventory
- Finished “Zarach’s people” should be Finished “Depths of Kul’rath”

The Story

Zazhut is free, and his wrath now descends upon Eo. The Shaikan are hopelessly outnumbered – but you, an Elder of the Shaikan, are not willing to give up hope. Joined by companions old and new, you head out towards the Realm of the Gods, for only they seem able to oppose Zazhut's power.

However, the Gods play a game of their own, and don't seem to be inclined to help you... The fate of Eo now rests within your hands; face the demons of the past, collect information about Zazhut and banish evil from this world, once and for all. Much has changed in time... are your foes as dangerous and your friends as faithful as they used to be?

Spellforce II: Demons of the Past is an old-looking game, both in graphics and gameplay. There is some kind of narrative value here, but will appeal only to faithful fans of the series.There’s a lot of content here, with a sprawling campaign and varied multiplayer modes, but ultimately it’s not worth the slog of what amounts mostly to tedious battles and glorified fetch quests. Despite this, the core gameplay is solid and the mash-up between RTS and RPG is a lot of fun. If you are a long time fan and follower of Spellforce 2, then I can imagine that Demons of the Past is right up your alley. You’ll easily understand the events surrounding the main storyline, and you will have been used to the nuances of properly playing the game. For everyone else, Demons of the past is a mediocre game that is not particularly memorable.Maybe SpellForce 3 will be a game that anyone will have to play, unfortunately Demons of the Past is for hardcore fans only.

Bugs, bugs, bugs. Lacking a serious tutorial. There are so many things a new player to the series will not understand. I you haven't played the earlier versions, don't buy this game. Unless you enjoy spending time on youtube trying to find out what you are supposed to do; or writing and waiting for answers on the Steam forum. I think this was the worst money spent. I am tired of half-made games being put on Steam for developers to make a quick buck. MAKE YOUR GAME THEN SELL IT. You have been warned......

Well, I've always been more or less a fan of Spellforce games. Granted the first one was vastly superior to the 2nd one, Spellforce 2 still had some good things going for it. However... this "expansion"... yeah stay away from it. It's horrible build, has "quests" that barely work. It wouldn't be a bad thing if you could skip the majority of these quests but most of them are main storyline quests which do hinder your progression. The only redeeming quality is the Freeform Game which is also horribly bugged in some levels.

What more can I say? It's a badly made expansion and I do hope that the devs who worked on this never touch another piece of software again. But that seems to be wishfull thinking since the rumor is that Spellforce 3 is already being made. At least I know which game to avoid in the near future. A real shame the Spellforce series dies here because of this "expansion" for me.

Spellforce 2 demon of the past jest złą grą porównując do pierwszego spellforca który urywa głowe razem z jajami.

Grze brakuje klimatu , tej dynamiki co była w pierwszej części nic się nie zmieniło od poprzedniej części spellforce 2 władca smoków .

Jeśli chodzi o kooperacje dopasowanie poziomu wroga do nas jest wręcz fatalny

Na przykład:

Zaczynamy gre z 1 lvlem i gramy ze znajomym który ma 7 lvl na mapie z wrogami posiadającymi 3 lvl...

Dla pierwszego gracza jest trudno bo po 5 minutach nadleci 50 przeciwników bo nawet gra o 2 lvle większa nie pozwala na spokojne rozbudowanie się a gracz z 7 lvlem będzie znudzony tym że po 10 sekundach zniszczy 30 przeciwników tylko bohaterem lub tytanem. Jest wiele sposobów zmienienia trybu kooperacji ale deweloperom sie poprostu nie chce .

Gra szybko nudzi , dużo błędów , grafika poprawiona lecz grafika jest najmniej ważna więc gdyby zwrócono uwagę na ważniejsze sprawy niż grafika ta gra mogła by być poprostu o wiele lepsza.

This very much feels like a rushed beta-version at best. They forgot to put in the tutorial, which I don't mind (seeing as I own all of the Spellforce games before this), but for anyone new to the series this could be a huge issue. The game is littered with a relatively boring story-line that involves cut-scenes (multiple minutes at times) that one can't skip. To be fair, the story might be good, but the video at the very beginning did not work for me, which is just one of the many bugs that make the game-play a frustrating experience. I am probably still going to finish it (if the game lets me), but I would strongly discourage buying this unless you are a die-hard fan of the previous games.

Although Faith in Destiny, the previous (also chronologically) installment of Spellforce series, was slightly disappointing, Demons of the Past is an amazing game, especially for the fans of the Spellforce series.

Gameplay - RTS and RPG mix still exists. Although I always liked Spellforce 1 (platinum edition on Steam)'s RPG system (skill building, etc.) more, the RPG side of Demons of the Past is pretty great still. Many side quests and main quests give you many details about the story, making it long, good and rich. RTS, on the other hand, is really good - challenging, yet easy to do still. The system also makes it easier to use some of the skills, spells and other special abilities. Army often can even do it on their own. It may be a bit hard for the newcomers at the start, but not too hard.

Soundtrack - as always, soundtrack to this new part of the series is pretty good.

Voice acting - it has certainly improved from previous titles.

Bugs - there may be a couple, but nothing too big. They haven't really bothered me.

I haven't played multiplayer with DotP much yet, but previous titles were already a lot of fun. You can even play the campaign with someone cooperatively.

Overall - 4 out of 5. It brings a good end to Spellforce 2, similar to Dragon Storm, and perhaps equally dark to Shadow of the Phoenix. Although the engine is old, it was improved. It may have some bugs and/or a downside or two here and there, but it has been a very enjoyable game with a very good story and also a good to Spellforce 2.
