평가

“It is a genuinely entertaining adventure for fans of private eye mysteries, and a solid debut for a promising developer...”
3.5/5 – Adventure Gamers

“Face Noir does an excellent job at immersing you in the game world. There are interactive close up scenes which let you feel more involved in the action … the detailed backgrounds are lovely. The grimness of each scene helps you feel like you are there, and the soundtrack is worthy of any noir film.”
Jay Is Games

“Face Noir is able to deliver on several fronts. Mad Orange was dedicated in providing an unique story while continually driving plot twists to further intrigue the player. Also in their effort they illustrated beautiful scenery to allow an appreciating experience while investigating objects”
7.5/10 – Capsule Computers

Face Noir is an adventure that promises much and gets nothing. The development is slow, very slow, the story is boring and does not begin to engage or get interesting until about halfway through the game. The first part of the game will be running around doing silly things and visiting the port often.

Too strict and lineal, you can only pick up and use things when he tells you "you have to do" ... even knowing what you have to do next... that´s the principal issue that breaks the enjoyment of the game. It had potential and eventually nothing at all.

And when the story seems to make sense and find the plot, the game ends with a "to be continued". Anyway, the music is good.

Trust me. I played a lot of adventures and this has been one of the most boring I've done.

This game is epic. Dark places, suitable music, black humor. Perfect atmosphere of a crime novel. The puzzles are logical and not too hard. The story and characters are easy to follow and remember. 14 hours of entertainment. One thing that I must say is that you cannot chose screen resolution, but the game upscale good.

I really like this game. Post depression New York with noir theme is quite unique. Main hero is private detective with drinking problem. His main goal is to survive in city where everyone is corrupted. Overall the atmosphere is immersive. First couple of hours I had fun solving puzzles, interrogating people and exploring environments. Plot was nice and it makes sense.

But then it started to get ridiculous. Introducing of paranormal events killed it for me. Last third of the game was boring, the same over and over again. There is even no real ending in the game. Apparently Face Noir II is coming, but I have no intention to play the sequel.

If you like noir and point & click games you will absolutely love this game like I do. The game's atmosphere and the story is very good. The only thing I don't like about this game is voice acting. Definitely worth the money and the time.

It's a good adventure game. Maybe not one of the best ever made, but certainly one to recommend.
They did get the whole noir ambiance in there nicely. And the story's okay.

Very entertaining all-around. Really bad voice acting, mediocre graphics, but a solid noir storyline and reasonable adventure/puzzle mechanics. If you like movies from the 1940s, this is a buy, otherwise you'd probably be better off with a Telltale game. Telltale games are awesome, just to clarify.

Beautiful point & click game. Very logical and enough hard to make you doubt. The ambiance is near perfection. Just missed the french translation and the streets felt a bit empty, but nevermind. Been 10-15 hours of happiness :)

Face Noir is a old school point anc click game done right. The theme and scenario as you can guess is a Noir Detective placed in the New York from the 1930s. Decent lenght, nice story, lots of backgrounds the low points from this are the mainly for me the lip sinc animations that are uncanny awkward, and a personnal nitpick are some of the puzzles are too ''Myst'' like, rearrange puzzles that you have almost no clues for its complition.
Regardless these, I have to say that I enjoyed very much playing this game. The main protagonist is vey likeable and the whole plot work just fine.
Face Noir alongeside many other are prrof that point and click were never dead.

Let me get to the skinny. I really, REALLY wanted to like Face Noir. A noir detective story wrapped around a point and click adventure? Yes please! But that said this game didn't work for me. The story was decent, the graphics were more than serviceable and level design was nice. But the game was, quite frankly, pretty boring. An excellent adventure game like Still Life pulls you in but Face Noir just didn't work for me. The puzzles were bland, voice acting was hit or miss and it just brought nothing new to the table. I think what I disliked most was the gameplay was so rigid. You HAD to do everything in a certain order or you were not going to proceed. I had to consult a walkthrough a couple times because I got frustrated by that. One last thing that ticked me off. The game ends up being set up for a sequel. Welp. We'll see if that ever happens. I'd recommend Face Noir if you're really into old school style adventure games but be ready to have a walkthrough handy or you will be going back and forth over stuff you missed. 5/10 from me.

EDIT: I'd be remiss if I didn't give some props to the soundtrack, which was excellent.

Good point and click. There are interactive puzzles and a good story. One downfall is that you will occasionally have to go back and reinteract with items after reaching a certain point in the story, even though nothing changed from your initial interaction. Another is that some of the puzzles aren't exactly consistent when interacting with them. Occasionally a lock that needs to be picked will be missing a tumbler position, forcing you to start the lock puzzle over. Even with those two nitpicks, the story is compelling and it's a decent offering for a point and click story adventure.

This game is badass. If you like detective stories, noir films and point-and-click adventure games, then you will like this game. I know I do. This game should be ranked 100/100 on Metacritic. The only reason why it's not is because people who rated it don't like film noir, detective stories and point-and-click adventure games as much as I do.

Damntzione. This game has the most shades of brown. Between average to a solid point and click adventure game. Gameplay is not bad. The down side is the lip sync. Mad Orange has done a great job. Fans of adventure games would find this interesting. The price for this game should be lower by now (since the original release date). Maybe $10.? Overall... 8/10.

'Dannazione!' -Jack, Face Noir

(Prepare to hear that alot in this game. It's so fun to hear the main character become frustrated while lock-picking or messing with the thermostat!)

The game is a fun point-and-click game wich is not that hard, it's a bit tricky at times but most of it is logical. The graphics are great and the sound sets the mood for the game.

I can certainly recommend it, ask me if you have any questions

This simply isn't that good a game. It's noir style means long-winded voice overs between scenes, and neither the voice acting nor writing is up to the task. Most of the puzzles are fine, but a few require objects to be placed in very precise patterns without the graphical cues or accuracy to make it clear why your solution does not work. A number of bugs plauge the game, one of which is game-breaking unless you realize you have to change a default Windows setting to get it to go away. The plot twists are fairly predictable, up until the end where it takes a twist to the absurd and goes in a direction that I personally found fairly undesirable. There are simply better point-n-click adventure games out there.

A mediocre point-and-click adventure game. Despite having "noir" in the title it doesn't feel noir. All the elements of noir are there but they don't click together well, plus a couple 4th wall breaking jokes take you out of the experience. The gameplay is generally good and the puzzles are well balanced, they present you with a solid challenge without being unfair or ridiculous. I was a bit annoyed with the monotone voice acting but got used to it fairly quickly. Personally, the longer the game went on the less I cared about the story and apparently so did the writers, because they didn't bother finishing it.

The game is a quite good technical job: nice graphics, nice voice work, interesting story... It had everything to be perfect, but things were implemented just all wrong.
The "puzzles" are simply a matter of finding something well hidden in the scenario and, once you find it, you basically need to move your mouse in the right directions and there goes the "solution".
The path you have to take to follow up with the story is made way too explicit by the thoughts of the character. His monologues always tell you what to do next, as hints you didn't ask for.
But the worst is that this game just kills the basic principle of point-and-clicking: exploration. Most objects only become available for use when the character already realized that he needs it. So the first time you explore the ambient he will say something like "I don't need it" for almost everything you try to interact with, but then after some stupid event that makes the character think "Hey, I need a blablabla for accomplishing that" then suddenly the blablabla can be picked up(or turned on, closed, open, or any other interaction that was previously unavailable).
It's a big challenge killer, you never really get the opportunity to think things through. As soon as the problem is presented, the character's consciousness gets to the answer for it, inevitably preventing you to draw any conclusion by yourself. What keeps you playing is just the hope that at some point all that seemingly pretentious work will actually turn into something fun. But I guess this is just an illusion.
