Sobre este jogo

At the dawn of time, a terrible war raged between the forces of good and evil, ending in the destruction of the world of Agarest. After their victory, the Gods of Light unified the decaying bodies of the Gods of Darkness and created a new world.

Now, the forces of darkness are awakening once again…

• Choose the path of Darkness or Light through a truly epic story, spanning multiple generations
• Battle hundreds of different creatures using an array of character abilities, in a compelling and innovative turn-based combat system
• Build your ultimate army of warriors and master Extra Skills, Special Arts and Over Kills to defeat colossal enemies!
• Unite with your chosen heroine and use the “Soul Breed” system to shape the fate of the next generation of heroes

Agarest: Generations of War - Exclusive game features!

Agarest: Generations of War includes many unique features that cannot be found in any other Strategy Role Playing Game. Here's a summary of some of the best:

Extended Area

Extended Area is the "Linked Area" set for both your party and your enemies. Each character in the game has a uniquely shaped extended area. When a character's turn comes around, all other characters in the Extended Area of the character in play (and characters in the extended areas of those characters!) can combine in an extended attack. This allows you to chain your party's attacks together, allowing access to more Arts and huge Combos!

Blacksmith's Guild
You can upgrade various Items and Equipment at the Blacksmith's Guild in two different ways:

By Enhancement: You can enhance equipment to a maximum of Level 5. Once an Item is enhanced to Level 5, you can convert the Item, changing it into something else. This process is irreversible and the original item is lost. Experimentation reveals some great new items!

Through Alchemy: Alchemy allows you to combine several items to create a single, more powerful piece of equipment. While you lose the items used in the alchemy, you gain a powerful new piece of equipment and permanent access to your new item in the Shop! Alchemy can create powerful new weapons and armour but occasionally a Smithing Accident will occur and the smith will create a different item than what you expected!

The "Soul Breed" system
Agarest takes place across 5 generations of heroes, starting with your first character, Leonhardt. During each generation you will build relationships with 3 different female party members, and at the end of each generation's story arc you must choose to marry one of the girls.

Your choice of marriage partner is restricted to girls who've grown fond of you over a particular generation. Your options are determined by your choices during conversations at certain points of the story.

The girl you choose as your wife - and the strength of their relationship with you - will determine the abilities of the main character in the next generation of the story. You'll have to experience multiple play throughs to see all of the character possibilities open to you! What heroes might you create?

A review at 10 hours for the benefit of fellow 2016 summer sale shoppers.

I've been playing JRPGs since Final Fantasy 4 (though back then it was labeled "2").
This game's music, art, leveling/stat progression, graphics, battle system...it works for me.

Audio: If "RPG music" is a genre of music you have actively sought after at some point, this game could add several tracks to that rotation. It's about as enjoyable as the Valkyrie Profile soundtrack. Game also has full Japanese voice acting, none that I recognize enough to put a name to yet, but there's talent to appreciate. My hearing sense is pleased.

Visual: Graphics are.... "nostalgic". Or maybe if you'd rather look at Doom or Fallout 4, they're just bad. I find them enjoyable though. The anime character drawings are nice to look at, the backgrounds are kinda pretty.

Gameplay: Hilariously overcomplicated. It was throwing tutorials at me for far longer than expected. When I was 14 I might've sat and memorized it all before going forward, but at this age, I choose to just learn as I go, and the game hasn't punished me for doing so yet (it presented me with easy-normal-hard at the start, I chose normal). The myriad mechanics are pretty fun once I started learning them, though I still haven't mustered the patience to stop moving the plot forward and find an optimal battle loadout. All in time I suppose.
I recommend that DLC be disabled, since it hands you game-breakingly overpowered items in your starting inventory, items with stat numbers like 1700 when starting stats are something like 200. If it's an additional playthrough the DLCs kind of make sense, speed things along and save oneself the grind. I went back to the "select DLC" at the new game screen to note what all the items were and then discarded them in-game on the save I had been playing, which also worked fine.

The plot is...okay! I've seen better, I've seen worse, it's enough to keep me playing. So far it's just war, war, war.

Now lastly, the topic I haven't touched yet. This is a game made for a heterosexual male demographic. The term "male gaze" was invented for the costumes the female characters in the game wear (or lack of costumes, or whatever). The plot has some familiar devices from the anime harem genre. Partly I find this sort of thing funny, partly I enjoy it for what it is, and, another part of me acknowledges that it's pretty stupid. This paragraph is just a warning that there is such a theme to this game, which isn't for everybody.

Anyway, not beating myself up over spending the sale price, since I'm enjoying the game for the time being.

I would only reccommend this game if you are a chronic fan of turn-based JRPGs. The plot idea seems like it arose from the mind of a 10-year old. But hey, I try not to hate. Seems pretty easily developed too. I sometimes wonder how much programming are put into games like these. Nonetheless, It'd still be a game I'd play just because I wouldn't want to feel like I've wasted $10 on the game when it was on sale. I guess I'd recommend a "yes" for this game also...

I might be hyprocritical though, since I've only played this game for a little while and I never like to judge games that I've never played for a long amount of time. Writing this review anyway because I don't feel like playing this game anytime soon and I'm in a writing mood.

TL;DR: I don't even know if this game is good or not.

Horribly thought out PC controls.
I mean, truly abominable.

Story is.. Ok. options for the RPG elements and growth liens are pretty good.

The PC controls are so abominable it's unacceptable however.

Prety good JRPG, for what it's worth.

A good turn-base game. If you are playing for the first time and you bought the complete pack, a word of advice is to not use DLC at all. Once you use it the attraction is gone because everything is easy, even so far as giving you a one shot sword.

The animation is really well done. Visual, voice everything is perfect. Don't let my hour record fool you, i mostly play offline. This game will suck alot of your free time sometimes non-free time, be careful when you decide to start playing it.
9.5/10 Really good game.

Sorry that I haven't written a review sooner. I usually don't write reviews because they never seem to come to mind. I really enjoy this game. There are some things that I wish were different, but they are more-or-less minor, so they're not really worth mentioning. The main thing is the static character movement during the storyline. However, that was merely my opinion. I bought all of the DLC because I liked it so much. I also wanted an edge, but since I'm on hard mode, that didn't really help too much towards later in the game.

I believe that this game has a good story and I enjoy playing through each generation. Especially at the end if you're going on the true path when you get the real characters back instead of the fake ones.

Overall, I'd recommend this game to my friends. It's a lot of fun. I've been taking my time (Haven't been playing it all of the time despite the number of hours clocked in), but it is definitely something I enjoy. My only complaint right now is at the very end of the game where it's much harder than I thought it would be. Other than that, it's a fun game!

I got this game because I liked the idea of how your hero changes from generation to generation, and the tactical rpg battles. And overall I like the game, but I was a little disappointed too. Even though the main character changes, the rest of your party stays the same. Combined with the fact that it pays to invest in endurance early, I rarely found any reason to change the characters I used. So even though I was getting new characters each generation, I never used any of them. This lead to my second issue. The battles were fun at first, but once I got the high combo skills I never saw a reason to use anything else. Hitting high combos gives you a bonus, so that's what I went for every time. I found that rather than fighting tactically, I just wanted to get each battle over with as fast as possible. Since I was using mostly the same characters all game, it got tedious after a while. All that said the story is interesting, there are choices that make a real difference in the game play, and overall it's a fun game. If you hate grinding of any sort, I would past, but if you're a fan of JRPGs I would recommend it.

Do you have 80h to spare? Try this on.

I missed this kind of JRPG, it's nice to have one of these around. Something to go back to once a day for some battles and a bit of story, almost like it's a sort of TV show.

Only go into it if you have time to spare and dan't mind grinding on the end of each generation.
Also there's a cool guide and a wiki to help on some parts, because that 4th Gen isn't linear at all.

I want to like this game I really do. However the story just goes on when it didn't need to and the story is not that gripping . The grind in this game is really bad and the battles are all the same.

If you play this turn off all battle animation will speed the game up LOADS. You will be basically playing the same story over and over again 4 times with the odd change here and there.

For example Gen 1 you rebel against king because you don't beleive his ways. Gen 2 you go against the duke same story slighty different scenario. They end the same as well peace was brought back to the land and Gen X and his three lovers disapper as if they never exisited

in the sequels they fixed this as they didn't drag the story on pass gen 2

Maioria dos personagens já vem com sua classe meio que pré-definido;
E nos turnos obrigatoriamente vc deve se mover primeiro para depois realizar os ataques, isso me incomodou nos primeiros minutos de jogo;

"Então vale a compra, né?"
