Don't let my playtime fool you, I played a hell of a lot of SS:2 as a kid back on the original Xbox, and have since played the 1st and 2nd Encounters and BFE and can seriously say that SS:2 is the best in it's series. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it is seriously the best FPS ever, narrowly beating the excellent SW:BF 2 and Goldeneye (2 other games i played the heck out of as a kid), but I have yet to play Overwatch, so it could be knocked off of its seriously shiny throne. Until then, however, I intend to spend my next two weeks playing this seriously great game until my girlfriend gets mad!

Pros:
It's not a gritty COD game
It has kamikaze birds
Basically Duke Nukem

Cons:
It has an ending! (JK LOL)

To conclude my serious review, I rate this seriously action-packed game 10/10!
I couldn't find any real flaws!

P.S: It isn't actually serious, it's colourful and fun!

These older games are about 90% of why I use steam, so take my review with a grain of salt. Why Does it say the file is corrupted every time I get near the end of the end of Episode one? Kwongo (1st boss) was easy on easy setting. I reset on normal to make it fair after it tried to delete my progress. Now I'm almost there again and it actually deleted it all so I'm at the beginning of the game.

11 hours in and I've literally gotten nowhere because the programming is wrong. What?!? Nice. Real nice.

"... it's one of Croteam's bad jokes... again?"

This game is the ♥♥♥♥. I've played all Serious Sam games and this one is by far my favorite one of them all. lf you've played a Serious Sam game before, you know the drill. Fight hordes upon hordes of various kinds of enemies with loads of guns without ever reloading in a desert or temple, right? Well this game takes it further.

It's not just sand and temples. You go on an adventure through five different planets, all with their unique theme(Forest, Swamp, Chinatown, Hell, and Fairy tale planet). And each planet has its own tribe and set of enemies. There's a much bigger enemy variety here than in other Serious Sams, and also just re-skins of enemies.

It also brings some new weapons, like the dual uzis and a parrot. A ♥♥♥♥ing parrot. You can kill Satan with that parrot. (I call the red bull soldiers Satan cause they literally look just like him).

There's also many new enemy types. There's orc soldiers, football players, orc warriors, warriors with huge axes, zombie stockbrokers, zombie minigun nazis, zombie kung fu ninjas, flying kung fu wizards, wicthes, kamikaze clowns etc... There's also a cyborg T-Rex with rocket launchers, a moustche and a cigar. Seriously.

One of the things that really love about this game is how it's just taking the ♥♥♥♥ the entire time. It doesn't itself very seriously. The intro cutscene will immediately let you know. There's a part where Sam enters a phone booth to call Bosses R Us to order an end of level boss; in the first planet the tribe shaman summons ♥♥♥♥ing King Kong using a DJ mixing table and then you roast him and have a buffet after defeating him; one of the bosses - Cecil the Dragon - begs you to take the King's princess - the king being Elvis Presely, of course- after he kidnaps her cause she's ugly as ♥♥♥♥, but after seeing her Sam doesn't even wanna rescue her and they have a battle to decide who has to stay with the princess, and the dragon tries to kill himself after losing... xD

It's just really funny and has some clever puns, like how after killing a giant bee Sam says "There be will no bugs in this game!". It's also very forth-wall breaking as even Sam mentions Croteam himself.

Overall, this isn't a serious game at all. But that's what makes it seriously fun!

This is an amazing game. I love the aspects of humor and comic relief. It has fun and intense gameplay that will suck you in. The Weapons are cool, & the Enemies are cool. I really like the thought and effort put into designing gameplay. I truly recommend buying this game because it is cheap and allot of fun.

yeepee, yuuhuu, lulululu

This game is sooo arcady and its good.
On the pictures, videos this game didnt looked that good to me.I was surprised how much i enjoyed this game.
Original non-HD:SS first encounter,SS 2 and second encounter are the only good SS games. All 3 games are different and none is better.
SS 2 focused on being action packed and fun with nice detailed world and variety.
It has nice cartoony graphics and not cellshaded crap.(Cellshade probably only works well when game is black and white)

+visuals, audio and arcade gameplay is in harmony, and finally feels "serious sam" to me.This is the style they need to work on. (special mention to Croteam's very talented music composer)
The original models and art style never hooked me and felt out of place, too random. SS2 is perfect direction.
+constant action and the nice, cute world keeps u playing with big smile on ur face. One the most fun FPS ever.I instantly felt in love with this game from minute 1, other SS games takes time and special mood to like.
+u no longer getting stucked in dead bodies
+weapons feels better to use now, u no longer have to deal with poor paper guns
+doesnt feel repetitive and boring like other SS games

+-moving speed is slower than SS 1. Which was already "slow" a bit, but for this game the speed feels just right. It doesnt hurt gameplay. It still a fast paced game, with the lot of actions happening.
+-lot of cutscenes (all skippable), but some of them is worth to watch

-pisspoor pistols, cant even destroy crates/barrels lol (why are pistols in the game at all)
-the bad gameplay design to not allowing backtrack for hp and ammo is still here (i never know when and how to manage my resources)
-the switched idle-battle music is still annoying
-japan and lava planets (even the jokes) are weak and those planets shouldnt even exist.Game is too long for a single sit. They just recycled content heavily and pointlessly. Also the world doesnt even look that uniq or well designed as other planets.
-spamming rockets is not fun, and forcing this is mistake. All SS games in a nutshell.
-i dont liked the physics/collison on terrain of this game, its not arcady.(Everything else is pure arcade in the game except this)
-invis wall simulator
-less tactical/mechanical than originals
-turret and vehicle combat sections
