Active community is rude, one of the maps is missing, it is FULL of hackers, it takes too long to level up and most gamemodes are dead with no players.

But it's mw2 so who cares, the gameplay makes up for it.

Sort of a lackluster story so far, but I don't expect much from any Call of Duty game. However, the gameplay and multiplayer is pretty nice (At least when you don't encounter hackers). Mission 3 is the best.

Overall, one of the best games i have ever played. When i played back in 2010-2011, i didnt realize how good it actually was. And im talking about both experiences: singleplayer and multiplayer. Now, 2016, i bought this game on the steam winter sale. And god, what a good choice this was.
About the multiplayer: its the strong point of MW2. The community may be smaller now, since there have been so many new CoD games, but there are still people playing. You can find a party even 4 am on a wednesday. The multiplayer quality is fantastic. The amount of content keeps you coming back for more. A lot of customization options, which includes call signs, emblens, perks, attachments... Killstreaks are a good reward for the players skills. I personally like the matchmaking system instead of dedicated servers, becouse it keeps the game alive, becouse everyone can become a host, we all know there are a lot of limitations to host a dedicated server.
There is also a mode that can be played both singleplayer and multiplayer, called Special Ops. Here you do some very cool missions, usually not very long. They use some locations from the campaing. But its very good becouse its VERY challenging. Its very skill based, and it will take you some time and patience to do all Spec Ops missions. Its much more fun to do with a friend rather than doing alone. Spec Ops gives MW2 a very unique perspective over the other CoD games, becouse in my opinion its a better mode than Survival and Zombies.
And theres the singleplayer campaing, which continues the story from MW in a very good way. The story is short, you can probably beat in in 5-6 hours in the regular difficulty, but its a very entertaing story about war. Although you probably wont spend a lot of time in this mode, you will enjoy the cinematics and the whole story a lot.
Is MW2 the best CoD game so far? Yes. Best FPS game so far? No, but one of the bests.
But wait, isnt the game too old? Yes and no. "Yes" becouse it was launched 7 years ago, but "no" becouse the game aged really well in all aspects. Im talking mostly about graphics and gameplay.

100% recommend MW2 is legendary.. ofcourse you gotta get it no matter what.

Singleplayer : Perfect story, no comment.. ;)

Multiplayer : same as my MW3 review, it's perfect but just the modded lobbies and the hackers... very annoying and ruining the game specialy one of the best call of duty's ever made.. how can you ruin that? !

This is going to be my first not recommended, but not because of the game because it's a great game. I had so many good memories of playing this game on Xbox 360 a couple years back, but that was not the experience I came back to. The servers are now all full of hackers and aimbotters and players that are invincible. I was so hoping to jump back in when a friend bought it and play a couple games with them and really show them how much fun a Call of Duty can be before all the added stuff from Black Ops onwards. Please do not purchase this game unless you do not plan to play multiplayer (which that is the only reason I purchased it). Fair warning to all.

I do NOT reccomend spending 20 dollars on this game. That doesn't mean the game isn't good. It was outstanding. Modern Warfare 2 was the best multiplayer CoD in my opinion as it supported every playstyle and the killstreaks were actually fun. I had this game for PS3 and it became overrun with cheaters so I though I would give this a shot on PC...

I regret my purchase. I would say 7 games out of 10 have cheaters and that's a conservative estimate. And to be clear, I'm talking about BLATANT hackers (Aimboters/Aim Assiters, ESP, and even the ability to block killstreaks.) There are only about 400 active players on at all times and they are all in the team deathmatch game mode. So if that isn't your cup of tea...don't buy. Most hackers will change the gamemode and map at there leisure anyway so even if you want to play TDM....good luck with that.

I put up with this BS till level 50 because every now and then I would get a game with legit players and it was actually fun for a change. I even managed to get a few nukes. But today I decided I was done when a DDoSer came into my match and told me he was going to hit someone offline. I didn't believe him....He posted my IP and lagged me out of the match.

It really is a shame I have to write a bad review for such a great game, but the prime days of MW2 are over. All thats left is a bunch of aim assisters who can't even manage to get a nuke WITH cheats. It's so pathetic. I'm hoping the CoD developers remaster this game. Until your 20 bucks and play something else.
