What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Bio-Shooter is a multiplayer game, and the best way to make it great is to build it with players. The core game is done and plays well online: three maps, three modes, six cell and microbe classes, a full organic arsenal and progression. Early Access lets us tune balance, netcode and maps with real matches, and shape what comes next around what players enjoy.
”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About two months. Early Access starts on November 6, 2026 and we plan to release version 1.0 on January 8, 2027, with updates almost every week in between. Dates can shift if player feedback asks for more time on something.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our roadmap to 1.0, with player-feedback updates on the weeks in between (December 11 is a break week):
- November 20: a new map, the Mouth, and a new mode, Kill Confirmed;
- December 4: two new classes, a Germ Medic and a Medicine Brute;
- December 18: Prestige, plus new player cards, titles and emblems;
- December 25: a Christmas event with timed challenges, daily and weekly challenges, and a new map, the Open Wound;
- January 1: a PvE wave mode;
- January 8: the 1.0 release.

These are plans and may change with player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable online and offline:
- 3 maps: the Eye, the Lungs and the Follicles, each with its own map events;
- 3 modes: Vitals, Team Deathmatch and Rush;
- 6 classes, each a living-gel cell or microbe with its own ability;
- 32 organic weapons grown from your body (20 guns plus melee weapons, grenades and gel charges), with attachments and a heat / perfect-charge system instead of magazines;
- destructible cover, knockdowns and revives, and scorestreaks;
- player-hosted online matches with host migration, plus bots and offline play;
- 100 ranks, 160+ titles, 70+ player cards, an emblem editor and 44 Steam achievements.

Expect bugs and balance changes while we tune things with the community.
”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price as major content arrives, so Early Access players get the best price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam forums and the Discord, regular dev logs and patch notes, and in-game bug reports. Most of the changes in our pre-alpha playtests came straight from player reports, and we'll keep working that way.”

About This Game

The war inside the body has begun.

A patient's life hangs in the balance. Fight for the Medicine to save them, or for the Germs to bring them down. Bio-Shooter is a fast, class-based online shooter set inside the human body, inspired by the big team battles and destruction of Battlefield, the bold abilities of hero shooters and the brutal finishes of Gears.

You are the cell

Every fighter is a living cell or microbe made of glossy, glowing gel, lit like a fluorescence microscope: you can see the organelles drifting inside and the nucleus pulsing at the core. The Medicine are pearl-white and cyan; the Germs are lumpy acid green and magenta. Get hit and the gel ripples, go down and you burst.

Guns grown from your body

There are no gloves and no magazines. Your weapon grows out of your own gel arm and fuses to it, and it runs on heat: every shot warms the gel cells, keep firing and the gun overheats and vents. Hit reload at just the right moment during the vent for a perfect charge: the heat clears at once and a pulse runs up the veins of your arm. Miss it and the vent drags on.

Three living battlefields

  • The Eye: fight across the cornea and around the giant pupil. When the eye blinks, get to shelter or be crushed, and watch out for tear waves sweeping the surface.

  • The Lungs: battle through the alveoli and airways as the lungs breathe in and out, pulling at everyone caught in the airflow.

  • The Follicles: push through a forest of giant hair shafts and pores, and get to high ground before a sweat flush washes the low lanes clean.

Three modes

  • Vitals: capture and hold zones to push the patient's vitals toward recovery, or toward death.

  • Team Deathmatch: first team to the score limit wins.

  • Rush: attackers arm bombs on the defenders' objectives sector by sector, while defenders hold the line.

Pick your cell

Six classes, three per side, each its own creature with its own ability:

  • Capsule Trooper (Medicine assault): an antibody with a Y-shaped head. Dose Shot.

  • Medic (Medicine medic): a white blood cell that heals and revives. Antibody Field.

  • Platelet Engineer (Medicine support): a spiky platelet that seals the line. Clot Wall.

  • Virus Infiltrator (Germ flanker): a bacteriophage on spider legs with a crystal head. Membrane Cloak.

  • Bacterium Brute (Germ heavy): a huge, bristling rod bacterium. Spore Burst.

  • Infector (Germ artillery): a branching tangle trailing spores. Contagion Mortar.

Build your loadout from 32 organic weapons: 20 guns from pistols and SMGs to marksman rifles and LMGs, melee weapons, grenades and gel charges, each grown in your side's own living material, plus attachments.

Fight like it matters

  • Destructible cover: chip it, break it, bring it down.

  • Cover system: snap into cover, pop up, lean and blind-fire.

  • Knockdowns: downed players can be revived by team-mates or finished off.

  • Scorestreaks, squads, spawn-on-squad and supply drops you can steal from the enemy.

Play online or with bots

  • Player-hosted online matches with automatic host migration: if the host leaves, the match carries on.

  • Bots fill empty slots and fight in squads, so every match is full.

  • Offline bot matches and a Training Range to try any loadout.

Progression

  • 100 ranks, weapon levels and attachment unlocks.

  • 160+ titles and 70+ player cards to earn, including gilded mastery cards for every gun.

  • An emblem editor to build your own emblem.

  • 44 Steam achievements and stats, with Steam Cloud saves.
