A 1v4 home-invasion party game. The Thief shrinks the family and sucks them into his gun while he robs the house. The Residents set silly traps, kick him flat and call the police before he banks $5,000. Then the lights go out: flashlights against night vision.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Not In My House is a multiplayer game, and the best way to balance thieves against residents is with real players. Early Access lets us tune maps, roles and items around how people actually play, instead of guessing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect about 6–12 months, depending on player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More houses/maps, more thief tools and resident traps, more cosmetics, player customizations and progression, and balance and polish based on community feedback. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable online multiplayer: 2 maps, both sides (thieves and residents),
- Thief can grab and loot items into deposit area and loot counts
- thief can shrink and capture residents
- Residents can kick thief
- Residents can set traps for thief
- game loop works fully

Expect bugs and balance changes while we iterate.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don’t plan to change the price”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through our Discord and the Steam discussion forums. Regular patch notes via Steam announcements, and community polls on upcoming features.”

About This Game

One Thief. Four Residents. One very bad night.

Not In My House is an online 1v4 home-invasion party game. The Thief has a shrink gun, a drone and night vision. The family has traps, their feet and a phone hidden somewhere in the house. Every round ends one of three ways: the Thief banks $5,000, the Thief sucks every Resident into his gun, or the police arrive.

How a round goes

  • Scout. For 45 seconds the Thief flies a tiny drone through the house, spots loot and fires tracking darts at Residents. Residents can kick the drone away.
  • Lights out. The power dies. Residents get flashlights. The Thief gets night vision.
  • Rob or run. The Thief carries loot to his box while the Residents find the phone, call the police and hold out until they arrive.

Play the Thief

  • Shrink gun. Shrink a Resident, then get close and suck them into your gun. Catch the whole family and you win.
  • Steal big. Shrink the big loot too, so it fits in your pockets. Three jackpot items are worth a fortune.
  • Cut the call. Find the phone and hang up on the police before it's too late.
  • Tricks. Lock your loot box, see the Residents' traps, and disarm them by hand.

Play the Residents

  • Traps. Banana peels, mouse traps, Lego, a rope topple, a fart cushion and a rubber duck. Plant them where the Thief will run.
  • Kick him. A good kick knocks the Thief flat for a few seconds. When he gets up, back off: he sprays shrink.
  • Call the police. The phone is in a different room every round. Find it, call, and survive until they arrive.
  • Shrunk? Keep going. Tiny Residents squeeze through pet flaps in the doors, hide, and talk in a squeaky voice.
  • Hide. Walk-in wardrobes, cupboards with real doors, and CCTV cameras to watch the house.

Features

  • Online play for 2 to 5 players: quick match or a private lobby with friends.
  • Proximity voice chat plus a team radio. Record your own shout for when you kick the Thief.
  • A walk-around tutorial lobby: try the shrink gun on dummies, test every trap, practise kicks, and record your voice on the jukebox while you wait.
  • Rooms change every round, so the house never plays the same twice.
  • A comic-book look with halftone shading and bold outlines.
