What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Hi-Rez Studios strongly believes in building games alongside our community. As seen in Paladins and SMITE, our games evolve dramatically over the course of Early Access because of feedback we receive from our players. We want players to be a part of Realm Royale’s development from the earliest possible moment so we can make the game you want to play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This Early Access is just that -- Early. We want to do so much more with this game, and we intend to remain in Early Access until Realm Royale is finished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our primary focus in Early Access is polishing the core gameplay experience. We also will add a number of features and systems allowing players to level up and unlock cosmetic content, such as skins, before launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Realm Royale is in Early Access Alpha.

Players can experience five classes, 17 weapons, and 25 abilities. They will drop into a massive fantasy-inspired map featuring and play a last-man-standing, 100-player Battle Royale. All core gameplay is implemented (though we still intend to polish it). Out-of-game features, such as player levels and unlockable cosmetics, have yet to be introduced.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Realm Royale is currently free-to-play in Early Access, and will remain free-to-play after launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our developers are very involved with our community. We are fully embracing Steam’s community tools and plan to be most active in the Steam discussion forums and news feed. We also read comments and engage with players on social media, conduct surveys, and watch streamers. And our community team collects formal feedback from players which is discussed in planning meetings every week.”

The Eternal Conflict (Battle Pass 4) 2019 Roadmap

The Realm Royale team has been very busy over the past few months, introducing updates containing reworked points of interests, launching new Battle Passes, and bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch!

Today, we want to give you some insight into what’s coming next in the Realm. While this update won’t cover all of the things we’re working on, we want to share some of the big ticket items we are actively developing.

The team is constantly working to make Realm Royale better through new features and polish / improvements. However, our current development cycle has not allowed our team to deliver an acceptable amount of polish to the game. Our rapid pace often results in the team needing to spend a substantial amount of time cleaning up issues from previous updates, rather than fixing issues before they reach the live servers. This has impacted our ability to focus on polish, and add new content.

Following the OB20 update, Realm Royale will move from a 4-week update cycle to a 6-week update cycle, allowing us to include exciting content with each major update (like the examples noted below). Smaller patches and hotfixes may come out between these updates to allow us to fix bugs or to address critical balance concerns. This change will allow us to better test content and will help us to ensure a higher quality release with each update.

Roughly every 12 weeks, we will continue to introduce new Battle Passes, each with its own unique theme and cosmetics. Player progression is an important part of creating a fun experience, and we’re committed to continue offering high-quality cosmetics for players to unlock throughout the year.

We look forward to a great year of updates for Realm Royale and are thrilled to take this journey with you. With each update, we will work to balance player requests and community ideas with features that the development team would add to the game experience, as we want to build Realm Royale alongside our community. Below, we’ve included a number of features and updates we will be making to Realm Royale throughout the Eternal Conflict Battle Pass.
New Heavy Weapon and Weapon Balance
A number of weapons are under review by the team to ensure that they are fitting their target roles and performing as well as we believe they should. Some weapons, like the Slug Rifle, are consistently powerful at all ranges, while others like the Assault Rifle are struggling to find their identity. The team is looking to review all existing weapons and introduce new weapons later this year to ensure that Realm Royale’s guns are the right power level, unique, and most importantly, fun to use.
New Abilities
Throughout the year, we are looking to introduce new abilities. For starters: We’re looking forward to introducing a new ability during our next Battle Pass this Summer. The team is also reviewing many of the movement abilities for later this year.
Custom Lobbies
As a battle royale, Realm Royale has fostered a strong competitive appetite within the community. Within the next few updates, we are looking to introduce the functionality for players to host their own private matches. We hope to add the ability to customize the in-game experience in the future.
Map Updates
One of Realm Royale’s most unique features is its map. With changes to Ice Haven, Crossing, Guntown, and Jade Gardens already this year, we’re committed to updating the map to keep the Realm interesting and unique in your travels. This year players can expect to see further changes to points of interest around the map, as well as improvements to add flavor to the open world.
Chicken Combat
Ever been so close to defeating your foe you could practically taste it? The team is developing a system for the battle to continue once you’re chickened. While dealing a relatively small amount of damage, Chickens will be able to attack other players to allow you to buck up and finish off weakened foes.

Be sure to follow us on Twitter and visit our Facebook page to stay up to date with new announcements, information on when updates will arrive, and more. We are excited to bring new features to Realm Royale and have more planned for later this year!

About This Game

Explore a fantasy world in Realm Royale, the new Battle Royale sensation. Choose your class, loot fantastic weapons and magical abilities, and work with your squad to win. Stay ahead of the deadly fog by mounting up and moving out. Will you be the last Champion standing?

Call your friends: It’s time to squad up. Help your team by dropping a Healing Totem, or fire a Flare into the sky to reveal incoming enemies. By working together as a team the crown royale could be yours.

Discover powerful abilities scattered across the Realm. Soar through the skies slinging spells while your team deploys deadly turrets and shields. Flank the enemy with the stealthy Ghost Walk, leaving behind a proximity mine for them to discover when it’s too late. Customize your Champion each game with the abilities best suited for the battle at hand.

Go traditional with shotguns and snipers, or embrace the fantasy with ice staffs, swords, and crossbows. If you want to win, you’ll need to use the Forges scattered across the Realm to craft powerful Runes, epic Gear, or bring back your fallen teammates. But be careful: While you’re crafting, your enemies may attack.

Journey through the lush jungle of Jaguar’s Claws and the scorched sands of Goblin Gulch. Visit frigid Everfrost and iridescent Fungal Forest. The best part: you don’t have to walk around this massive Realm. Just summon your mount to outrun the fog and ride into your next glorious battle!
