A million items

You walk into a large sorting hall one morning. In the middle, a mountain of mail rises almost to the roof trusses: a million items, and nobody to deal with them.

Sort by hand

At first, everything is done by hand. You pick up a letter, read the address, slip it into the right column of the old cabinet. A mistake? It comes back with a small "Retour" stamp. Parcels go on the scale, then you throw them into their canton's hamper. Aim well: a miss stays on the floor, and an overfull hamper spills.

Load the vans

Sorting is not enough: the mail has to leave. Load crates of letters and lots of parcels into the right van, docked behind its door, and send it on its round. You are paid when it leaves. And every day, a truck brings more.

Answer the customers

Then the customers write. On the computer at the back, complaints land: a letter gone astray, a wardrobe forgotten in a corner. Ship it in time, offer a goodwill gesture, or watch your reputation melt along with your pay.

Carry the bulky parcels

A sofa, a fridge, a steel drum and, yes, a kayak. Too heavy to throw, painfully slow to carry alone. Get a pallet jack or a friend, and walk them to the truck.

Automate the hall

With your francs you equip yourself, then the build tool changes everything: vacuums at the foot of the pile, belts that take their corners, address readers, canton gates, sorters, packers, dock loaders. All the way to a complete factory that fills the vans without you. And for the end game, enriched uranium: eight tentacles that file your letters for you.

Four players in co-op

Everyone has their own hands, there is one mountain. Form a chain and toss letters and parcels to each other.

No timer, no game over. Expect a good dozen hours to clear the mountain.
