About This Game

The Evil Veggie Council has invaded the candy universe. Grab your drill.

Candy Diggers is a bright, glossy digging roguelite. Steer your drill down through layers of cake, chocolate and gummy, bite through blocks, catch the critters that pop out of the walls and pick upgrades every level. Dig deep enough and you meet the bosses: 30 grumpy vegetables buried in the candy, each with its own powers.

Dig, level up, fuse

  • 20 base upgrades. Max two of them and they fuse into one of 21 synergies.

  • Max two synergies and they fuse again into one of 21 ultras.

  • Pin the combos you want and let auto-pick chase them, or choose every card yourself.

Ten candy planets

  • Whipped Cream, Gummy, Candyfloss, Chocolate, Peppermint Ice and more, each with its own blocks, hazard and three bosses.

  • Beat a planet's final boss and it turns Enraged: deeper, meaner and full of new rewards.

Build a candy factory between runs

  • Everything you dig ends up in your town's stock.

  • Lay belts, place cookers, presses and mixers, and sell what you make for coins.

  • Spend coins on new planets, hero levels and artifacts.

12 diggers, 60+ artifacts

  • Unlock heroes with their own powers, from the speedy Rocket Pop to an auto-digger that drills by itself.

  • Dig up buried artifact parts and complete them for permanent powers in runs and in your town.

Made to be cosy

  • No combat in the classic sense: critters are caught, not killed.

  • 62 achievements, Steam Cloud saves, controller support and a reduce-flashing option.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Most of the game's 2D art was made with locally run AI image models and then edited, cut out and composited by hand: planet and level backgrounds, boss and character illustrations, item and upgrade icons, achievement badges and the store art backgrounds. The intro, landing and victory films were made with an AI image-to-video model and edited by hand. The game logo is real typography, not AI. All sound effects are synthesized in code, and the music is composed by the developer. The game's code was written with the help of an AI coding assistant.
