About This Game

Jump the cacti. Don't let the raptor die. That was enough to make the Chrome dinosaur game famous, and Raptor Runner starts from exactly there — then gives it somewhere worth running.

The desert doesn't stand still

Every run happens at some particular time of day. You might start in flat afternoon light and still be going when the sky turns gold, then magenta, then dark enough for the stars to come out and the Milky Way to tilt in overhead. The moon climbs a real arc. The dunes roll past in layers. None of it asks for your attention — it's just the reason a good run never quite looks like the one before it.

Weather you can see coming

Rain doesn't switch on. A few drops, then more, then a downpour you're running through, then it thins back out. At the worst of it lightning comes down and leaves the cactus it hit blackened behind you. Sometimes there's a rainbow afterwards.

A breather, and something to spend it on

The desert paces itself. Every so often the cacti thin out, flowers come up through the sand, and for a stretch there is nothing to jump — just coins to sweep up and a diamond waiting at the end of them. Then the cacti come back. Everything you pick up banks toward a shop: hats, glasses, a monocle, an eye patch, a gold chain, fourteen things in all, every one of them earned by playing. Nothing costs real money, and nothing asks you for any.

And some things you will have to find

A few rare sights turn up on long odds — never often enough to count on, and worth telling someone about when one does. You should meet those on your own.

Small, and finished

Twenty-five achievements, from your first jump to surviving a full storm. Your best scores stay put, and a score card saves the exact sky and outfit you died in, so you can show someone the run rather than the number. Pterodactyls come in at two heights — duck under one, jump the other. Mute any of eight sound categories independently if the thunder gets old.

Plays with a keyboard or a controller — Xbox, PlayStation and Switch Pro pads are picked up automatically, with rumble on death. The same game runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, and in a browser. Steam achievements unlock alongside the in-game ones.
