What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to develop Lycans 2 alongside its players, starting with a game that is already playable, easy to pick up and has enough to offer for a fun evening with friends.

The idea is to build on that foundation through regular updates, watching how people play and listening to the community.

I already have plenty of additions in mind, but before making things more complex, I want to see what works, what is missing and what players enjoy most. The response to the game will also help me decide how ambitious future updates can be and what resources I can put into development.

As a content creator myself, I also want to involve both my own community and the Lycans community in the journey.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Early Access to last about a year. That may change depending on player feedback and the work needed to get the full release ready.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I want to give players more ways to play and more reasons to come back to Lycans 2, while keeping it easy to get into.

Its sandbox approach leaves plenty of room for players to interact and for unexpected situations to unfold. I plan to add more roles, professions, items, equipment, weapons, effects and maps, along with new mechanics. The aim is to bring more variety to each match and create even more funny moments with friends.

The content of the full release will take shape as development progresses, guided by community feedback and testing during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can already play complete matches of Lycans 2, with survival mechanics, professions, combat and interaction between players.

Villagers, werewolves and solo roles offer different ways to play and win.

There is already more content and more to do than in the first game. Early Access will be an opportunity to build on that experience, improve balance and performance, and fix issues reported by players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I am considering a small price increase when the game leaves Early Access. The amount will depend on the content added and how the project develops.

Any price change will be announced in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Lycans already has an active community and content creators who continue to share the game with their audiences.

As a content creator myself, I want to talk directly with players and involve my community in the development of Lycans 2.

I will regularly follow discussions on the game's Discord and Steam Community Hub to gather suggestions, bug reports and feedback on balance. Watching matches will also help me understand what players enjoy and what needs improvement.

Those conversations will help set priorities for updates while keeping the game focused on survival, betrayal and having fun with friends.”

About This Game

Friends, fangs and some seriously dodgy excuses.

Lycans 2 blends social deduction, survival and action in a village where your closest allies might be planning to eat you. Explore, gear up and unmask the werewolves… or earn the trust of your future victims.

Between bluffing, teamwork, dirty tricks and utterly ridiculous situations, expect games where plans unravel as quickly as accusations fly.

TEAM UP. MESS UP.

A fishing trip, a questionable potion, an improvised rescue… and suddenly the entire village is running in every direction.

Unexpected effects and player interactions can turn an ordinary moment into total chaos. Experiment with potions and spellbooks, improvise when your plan falls apart and enjoy the show when someone else's goes even worse.

Between tension, betrayal and fits of laughter, you'll have plenty of stories to tell. And probably very different versions of what actually happened.

ANYONE CAN KILL. NO ONE IS SAFE

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and your companion just pulled out a weapon.

Villagers, wolves in human form and solo roles: everyone can attack and kill, day or night. Defend an ally, set an ambush or take out whoever you think is a wolf. No vote required.

But having a weapon doesn't make you right. If you just killed the healer on a hunch, you might need a better excuse than “they looked suspicious.”

A USEFUL JOB DOESN'T PROVE YOUR INNOCENCE

The village needs resources, food and equipment. Your job gives you advantages to help it survive… or make yourself indispensable to the wrong people.

  • Fisher: Fill plates and keep trade flowing with your catches.

  • Miner: Extract the ore needed for the forge and the group's equipment.

  • Blacksmith: Turn resources into weapons and equipment for your allies.

  • Alchemist: Find ingredients, brew potions and identify their effects.

  • Guard: Use your armor and combat skills to protect those you choose.

  • Healer: Heal your companions and spot mushrooms useful for alchemy.

  • Merchant: Use your trading advantages and carrying capacity to supply your side.

  • Jobless: Explore, find equipment and figure out where you fit in.

Wolves have jobs too. The person supplying your sword might be planning to kill you later. Helping the village can be the perfect cover.

TRADE. TALK. GEAR UP.

Every village builds its own economy. Gather resources, sell your finds and trade with other players for the weapons, potions and supplies you need. Your spare ore could become an ally's sword. Their next potion could save your life.

Use proximity voice chat to strike deals, coordinate supplies and turn a scattered group of villagers into a force ready to fight the wolves. Speak up about what you need and what you can offer. Getting your allies equipped could matter just as much as upgrading your own gear.

Just remember: a fair price doesn't guarantee an honest trader. You might be arming the very person you'll have to fight.

TWO SIDES… AND THOSE OUT FOR THEMSELVES

As a villager, work together to identify the wolves and prepare to fight them. Share resources, protect your allies and try not to kill each other over a misunderstanding.

As a werewolf, blend into the group, lie with confidence and choose the right moment to strike. Kill in human form or transform into a wolf to go hunting.

With solo roles, pursue specific objectives to win alone against everyone. Help a side when it suits you, manipulate the others and use their conflict to set up your own victory.

Maybe your friend really is on your side. For now.

THE BLOOD MOON WON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE READY

While the village gathers supplies, strikes deals and trades accusations, the blood moon draws closer. Every villager murdered hastens its arrival.

When it rises, night becomes permanent, surviving wolves take their true form and the remaining villagers are revealed to their predators. The ultimate battle begins.

Everything you've built leads to this showdown: the weapons you've forged, the potions you've saved and the allies you've kept alive. Villagers must stand together. Wolves must finish the hunt. The side best prepared for the final clash will emerge victorious.

Make allies. Gear up. And make sure your friends are ready when the moon turns red.
