What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Fatespun is made by a solo developer with a family and a full time job, and we want players shaping it while it grows. The core game is complete and playable end to end, so Early Access lets us tune balance, difficulty and new content against how real players build their decks, rather than guessing. Every class, boss and card is measured against player runs, and we plan to keep adjusting them as feedback comes in.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Early Access to last up to a year. The core game is already complete, so the exact length depends on player feedback and how quickly the planned content comes together, and we would like to reach the full release sooner if we can.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access is the complete core game: three acts, six classes, every act boss including the final god fight, rival battles against other players' saved boards, and a 20 level progression track for each class. The full version builds on that. We plan to add:

More cards and builds
- More cards for every class, including cards that bridge two traits so builds can mix.
- More Heavy weapons and haste cards: big, slow cards that grow every time they strike, driven by haste.
- More enchantments: events, elites and the merchant change what a single card does for the rest of the run.
- More powers and boons that change how a build plays rather than adding raw damage.

More to fight and find
- More events, encounters and elites in each act, and more variety in each act's boards.
- An expanded Champion's Fight after the final boss, against boards saved by other players who also won.
- Ongoing balance passes on every class and boss, shaped by player feedback.

A home you can explore
- A new main menu set in a tavern, where the table itself is the menu.
- The Tome, a card compendium searchable by class, trait and keyword.
- The Shelf, an encyclopedia of rules and a bestiary of every enemy you have met.
- The Loom, where cards can be upgraded in looks with a currency earned only by playing, never sold.

Platform and polish
- Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud saves.
- A trailer, more music, and visual polish across every screen.
- Versions for more platforms.

Early supporters will receive exclusive cosmetics and trophies to show off when the game fully releases.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable end to end with all six classes through three acts and every boss. Runs, rival battles, the class progression track and its cosmetic rewards all work today. Expect balance changes and new content in regular updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to keep the Early Access price lower than the full release and to raise it when the game leaves Early Access, so early players get the game at its lowest price. Cosmetics in the in-game store are optional and never affect gameplay.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read every bug report and suggestion on our Discord and Reddit and in the Steam discussions. Player feedback decides balance changes and which planned features come first, and each update's notes say what changed because of it.”

About This Game

Fatespun is a card roguelite in a dark, romantic high-fantasy world. Your hero walks a painted map, one road at a time, toward a king who hints at something older beneath his throne. You arrange them, and then you watch the formation fight.

Every run is a loop. Plot a route through a seeded act. Spend gold and Resolve at taverns, merchants and strange events. Build a formation of variable width, where position and trait decide what a card is worth. Survive three player rival gates, then face the act boss and choose a Legendary reward. Fights are automatic, so the decisions that matter are the ones you make before the first blow lands.

Pick a hero and let them change how you build. The Wizard, Fighter, Rogue, Paladin, Ranger and Warlock each pull a different set of traits and a different kind of ending. Learn what each one wants, bend a run around it, and come back to try the next.
