About This Game

In ancient times you came to the Kingdom. Rotten, corrupt, cruel. All kinds of creatures and races are trying to survive however they can. Study your characters. Ruthlessly curse and burn your enemies. Use your head, build powerful synergies, wreck every plan of your opponent with control, poisons and diseases. Heal and protect your allies with magic. Turn the battlefield into a living hell. A careless move, a fighter placed badly on the board — absolutely any mistake can cost you the whole match. This game won't teach you like a child. It cuts you no slack, and all you can rely on is your knowledge and endless practice. Hone your skills match after match. The story of the Kingdom will unfold from update to update, and in the future the storming of the main castle of its capital awaits you.

What makes this game unique

  • Minimal randomness — who goes first, which cards you draw and a few skills with a chance to trigger. No leveling up. No mana. No money. No towers. Just you, your opponent and the fighters on the board.

  • Choose your color scheme — pick the color of the velvet board you like.

  • Support right from the game — send a message with attached files straight from the menu. Directly to the developer. In nine languages. And tell me where you'd like to get the reply.

  • Personal contacts only. No support@, no bots, no departments. Just you and me, the developer of this game. You can write to me personally, even outside Steam. I don't mind.

  • Three ways to play — learn calmly by practicing against the AI. Train your friend in a friendly match. Or find a random opponent and conquer the leaderboard!

  • Match logs. Any match, at absolutely any moment, can be saved to a text file with a single key (L).

  • Your own words — every player can write anything about themselves in their profile, right in the game.

  • Plans ahead — right in the main menu you can see well in advance which updates are coming and what they will bring.

  • Automatic graphics quality — the quality of animated cards adjusts itself to your screen size: from 256 px up to 4K.

Especially for pirates, bloggers, streamers and other developers

I'm not going to go after anyone who plays a pirated copy for themselves. I'm absolutely fine with you making money from streams or videos about the game Claude and I made. I'm happy to give interviews and answer questions. But I really won't like it if you copy the game, its art, music, idea or code to make clones of my game. The same goes for making mods for it.

And for those who want keys to the game: it will all depend on your behavior.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Let me be honest right away: I used artificial intelligence to make The Fatal Card.

The game's code was written together with Claude. I came up with the ideas, drew the mockups, set the tasks, checked every result and sent back everything that wasn't good enough. Claude wrote the code, found and fixed bugs, and helped with animations and effects. The images and videos were made with Claude, and the music with Suno AI.

I know some people will call this "AI slop". I don't see it that way. This game wasn't made in a day: every card, every mechanic and every little detail was tested and reworked hundreds of times until it came at least somewhat close to what I wanted to see. I'm not ashamed of using AI, and I'm not going to hide it.

This game was made by the two of us — me and Claude. Thank you, Claude, for all of this. Without you I would never have released this game. Not mine — ours.

No AI generates anything during gameplay, and the game does not connect to any AI services.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Turn-based card battles between fantasy characters: attacks, blood magic, curses, poison and vampire bites; defeated characters burn away. There is no blood or gore in the battles themselves. Some characters are depicted suggestively (the succubus in a revealing outfit, the demon in a loincloth), without nudity. Character voice lines include flirting and references to a fatal illness and to sexual violence (never shown). Character descriptions mention alcohol and a death caused by alcohol abuse.
