What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Shattered Divide is a big open-world co-op survival game, and the best way to make it great is with players in it. Early Access lets us test survival balance, multiplayer stability and performance on a wide range of PCs, and shape new systems around how people actually play, while you get to survive the Divide from day one and help decide where it goes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Shattered Divide to be in Early Access for around 12 to 18 months. This may change depending on player feedback and the scope of what we add, and we will keep the community updated along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the world with more regions, story chapters, quests and contracts, add more infected types, bosses and world events such as rifts, and deepen survival systems like farming, cooking, crafting and base building. We also plan to add more weapons, attachments, vehicles, cosmetics and progression rewards, along with ongoing balance, performance and multiplayer improvements and full controller support polish. Everything listed is our current plan and may change based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is fully playable solo or in online co-op. It includes a large open world, survival needs, infection and corruption, multiple infected types and bosses, crafting, base building with code locks, vehicles you can drive, repair and lose, a companion dog, quests and contracts, weapon attachments, weapon levels and camo challenges, player levels with prestige, and Steam Cloud saves. As an Early Access game you should expect bugs, balance changes and some unfinished areas, and saves may occasionally need resetting after major updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not currently plan to change the price when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will read and respond to feedback on the Steam forums and our community channels, run regular playtests of new features, share development updates and patch notes, and use bug reports and player suggestions to decide what we work on next.”

About This Game

What Was Once Myth Is Now Reality

The Merridian Initiative was meant to help Earth recover. Its final test tore open reality.

You were there when the Fracture opened. You survived what came through. But you did not walk away unchanged.

Now radiation stains the ruins green, violet corruption spills through world rifts, and things once dismissed as myth stalk the streets. Somewhere beyond the abandoned homes and silent roads lies a world you recognise, twisted into something you do not.

Shattered Divide is an open-world survival game about finding your place in what remains, alone or with friends.

Make a Life Among the Ruins

An empty house becomes shelter. A battered car becomes a way out. A handful of scavenged supplies buys you another day.

Search forgotten towns, trade with survivors and craft what you need to keep going. Build a base worth returning to, somewhere to store what you have found and prepare for whatever comes next.

Beyond its walls, the weather turns, food runs short and the road home can feel much longer after dark.

You Are Not Alone Out There

A noise upstairs. Movement across a ceiling. Something standing where there was nothing a moment before.

The infected are drawn to the sounds of survival. An engine, hurried footsteps or a single gunshot can bring unwanted company. Other creatures are harder to understand, and harder to forget.

Customise your weapons for the journey ahead. Bring something quiet, something powerful, or whatever you have ammunition for. Good equipment can give you a fighting chance. Knowing when to leave may keep you alive.

Beyond the Rift

There are places the Fracture has changed beyond recognition.

Cross through world rifts into a corrupted mirror of familiar streets, where buildings hang in violet fog and gravity no longer behaves as it should. What looks like home from a distance may feel very different once you arrive.

Keep the gateway open, stand against what comes for you and uncover what the other side has to offer. The promise of something valuable is a powerful reason to cross. Getting back is another matter.

Something Came Back With You

Since the Fracture, you have been able to see things others cannot. Shapes behind walls. Threats hidden from ordinary sight.

The corruption has left more than scars.

There is strength in it, and abilities you are only beginning to understand. As it takes hold, the line between surviving this world and becoming part of its horrors grows thinner.

You may need what is waking inside you. You may wish you had left it alone.

A Reason to Come Home

Take to the roads alone or face the unknown with friends in online co-op. Build a home together, share the last of your supplies and go back for the person who did not make it to the car.

Explore in first or third person, from the ruins on your doorstep to whatever waits beyond the next rift.

You cannot undo the Fracture.

But there is still a life to build in what it left behind.
