What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Territorium is already playable and complete in its foundations: real-time conquest, multiple modes, ranked matches, clans, and tribes. A multiplayer strategy game thrives above all on its players. We want to balance modes, maps, and rankings with a real community rather than in isolation. Early Access allows us to develop the game with you: your matches, feedback, and ideas directly guide future updates.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for an Early Access period of approximately 6 to 12 months. The exact duration will depend on community feedback and game stability.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan in particular:

- new maps and new game modes;
- refined balancing of modes and ranked play, based on player statistics and feedback;
- more fleshed-out ranked seasons and more features for clans and tribes;
- addition of Steam Achievements;
- controller support;
- new accessibility options and UI improvements;
- performance and stability improvements, including for large-scale matches;
- new cosmetic items, which remain purely aesthetic.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable right now:
- single-player matches against AI, or multiplayer on our servers;
- several modes: Nations, Versus, Conquest, and a ranked mode with ELO ratings;
- numerous maps inspired by the real world;
- clans, tribes, profiles, match history, and replays;
- cosmetic shop, purely aesthetic: nothing grants an in-game advantage;
- Steam integration: login, Steam Cloud, Rich Presence, friend invites, and Discord Rich Presence;
- the game is translated into 40 languages and features a colorblind mode;
- an anti-cheat system (TGS) protects matches, and a moderation team investigates every incident.
As with any Early Access, bugs and balance issues may remain. The game receives frequent updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change after Early Access. We will never sell in-game advantages: in-game purchases remain purely cosmetic.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“- Our Discord server and Steam forums are open for feedback, bug reports, and suggestions, and we respond directly.
- Each update is detailed in a changelog published inside the game.
- Player ideas are reviewed and integrated whenever they make the game fairer and more fun for everyone.
- Balancing for ranked play and game modes relies on match statistics and player input.
- Players can report suspicious behavior directly in-game, and our moderation team reviews every report.”

About This Game

"Conquer the world, one border at a time."

Territorium is a real-time multiplayer strategy game. Start from a small territory, or a real country, and push your borders tile by tile against dozens of players. Manage your gold and troops, build your economy, negotiate alliances… and choose the right moment to break them.

GAME MODES

Nations: Play a real country on a giant world map, with up to 80 players. You start with your whole country and its capital, which boosts your gold and troops. Smaller countries get a starting bonus to stay in the race. Alliances between neighbors last longer. When all seems lost, you can surrender and become another player's vassal. Unclaimed countries are played by the AI.

Conquest: Five objectives appear on a regional map. Hold three of them for three minutes in a row to win the game. Fast, intense, and every minute counts.

Ranked (Steam version exclusive): Free-for-all matches for 4 to 16 players, on maps sized to the number of players. Earn ELO, climb from Bronze to Legend and make your mark on the season. Seasons last three months, with a public leaderboard.

Versus (Steam version exclusive): Team battles, from 1v1 to 4v4, on symmetrical tournament maps. Same rules for everyone: no bots, no nations, just strategy.

Classic games and lobbies: Free-for-all or teams, on dozens of maps from all over the world. Create your own public or private lobbies with your own rules, for free.

BUILD, UPGRADE, DOMINATE

Your buildings make the difference, and most of them can be upgraded up to level five over the course of a game:

Cities and factories: the gold and troops that fuel your fronts.

Ports and warships: control the coasts and sea routes.

Defense posts, radars and SAM launchers: spot threats and intercept enemy missiles.

Missile silos: EMP bombs to knock out enemy defenses, atom bombs, hydrogen bombs and MIRVs.

DIPLOMACY AND BETRAYAL

Form alliances, sign a peace treaty in the middle of a war, impose a trade embargo… or betray at the right moment. Breaking a peace makes you an oathbreaker: everyone will know, and your defense will pay the price.

CLANS AND COMMUNITY

Found a clan, design its crest, challenge other clans in clan wars and aim for the title of season champion. Share your best games with replays.

A COMPLETE STEAM EXPERIENCE

Ranked, Versus and public lobbies included, forever, with no subscription.

Automatic sign-in with your Steam account.

Settings synced with Steam Cloud.

Steam and Discord invites and presence: your friends see your game and join you in one click.

Available on Windows, Linux and SteamOS.

An anti-cheat, Territorium Game Shield, that protects games; every incident is reviewed by our team.

The Pioneer badge for Early Access players.

NEVER PAY-TO-WIN

In-game purchases are purely cosmetic: territory patterns, flags, crowns and effects. Nothing gives you an advantage in a game.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Territorium was born from the open-source project OpenFront. It keeps its foundation, then goes further with its own modes (Nations, Conquest, Versus, Ranked), building upgrades, peace treaties and vassals, clans and ranked seasons, a dedicated anti-cheat and a fully redesigned interface. Territorium is not affiliated with OpenFront or endorsed by its authors.

Developed by Broussen Studio, in France.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The Territorium team used generative artificial intelligence tools during development: to assist with translating the game into various languages, to create certain graphic elements (sprites and icons), and to produce marketing materials (editing). All such content was reviewed and approved by the team. The game does not generate any AI content during gameplay.
