About This Game

You decide in the dark and pay for it in the light.

Take a seat. Nobody here plays for money. The stake is what’s left of your soul. On the table there’s an old revolver, a knife, a straw doll with a nail in its chest, an eye in a jar… and something sweet.

The light goes out and you grab one, blind. You hear the one across the table grab something, but you can’t see what. All you see is the glint of their eyes.

The light comes back. They grabbed the knife. And pointed it at you.

The Third Seal

The Third Seal is a first-person psychological horror duel for 1 to 4 players, solo against the AI or online with friends. Invite them through Steam, and the AI fills any empty chairs. It all happens in a Victorian parlor, and you never get up from your chair. There’s nowhere to go.

Outside, it’s raining and the grandfather clock ticks off the seconds. In the dark, the clock falls silent and you hear the others breathing.

No one at this table shows their face: the plague doctor, the monk, the executioner and the convict. Choose who you are.

One round, step by step

  • In the light, you look. Every object tells you what it does. When you’ve seen enough, you touch your skull. As soon as everyone has touched theirs, the Entity in the corner puts out the light.
  • In the dark, you grab. Just one, in secret. If the object calls for it, you point at someone.
  • The light comes back and everything is revealed at once. In turn, each player uses what they grabbed. That’s when you see who blew it. Sometimes it’s you.
  • If several grab the same object, hold on tight. Every object has its own twist. The knife cuts everyone holding it, the grenade blows up in their hands and whoever grabbed the sweet treat first eats it.

The blood vials in front of you are your life. When only one is left standing, they take a seal and a new duel begins. With three seals, you walk free. Everyone else stays with the Entity.

Lie to them. Read them. Betray them.

You don’t fight the object. You fight the other player’s mind. Against the AI you learn the ropes, and with friends you learn to lie.

  • Your eyes give you away. Online, you can see where everyone is looking, even in the dark. Point at one player, then fix your eyes on another.
  • The revolver is more threat than weapon. It nearly always blows up in the shooter’s hand. Use it as bait. Let them catch you eyeing it… and grab something else.
  • Seeing is a weapon. With the candle, you see what each player grabs. With the eye in the jar, next round the others don’t know what’s on the table.

The Entity makes the rules. And it collects.

In the corner there’s a shadow of black smoke with four burning eyes and no pupils, so you never know who it’s looking at. Look away, and it creeps closer and its mouth begins to open. When you look back, it’s nearer. And it shuts its mouth.

Almost every round, it sets a new rule: “This round someone must bleed.” And when it collects, its claw reaches across the table.

No one rises from this table unless another falls.

Take a seat, touch your skull and choose who you’ll betray.
