Why Early Access?

“Rasen's core gameplay experience is ready, but there is still a lot that I want to add and improve. As a solo developer, Early Access allows me to release the game in its current state while also speeding up development, adding more content, polishing the overall game and shape its future based on community feedback.”

“Rasen is expected to leave Early Access in Q1 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more playable characters and arenas, as well as more singleplayer content and achievements. I also intend to improve the combat system, balance, ranked matchmaking and the game's overall competitive aspect.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version features 4 unique playable characters, 5 arenas, ranked PvP matchmaking and ranked PvE Survival mode. There are public and private lobbies with support for both players and bots. Available game modes include Free-for-All, Brawl, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Practice Mode. The game also features GGPO-style rollback netcode for up to 8 players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase when the game is fully released, as more content and features will be added during the Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will continue to gather player feedback through our Discord community, Steam Discussions and in-game reports to identify issues, improve the balance of the game and its combat system and develop future features and updates.”
