What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Call Me, Liar is a party game made by a single developer, and the best way to improve it is to watch real groups of friends play it. Early Access lets me add games and tune the show together with the people playing it, instead of guessing on my own.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to leave Early Access about six months after release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have more games in the show; my goal is twenty, up from ten today. As the game grows, I also want to bring in artists and voice actors to replace the AI-made art and voices with human work. Along the way I will keep improving the rooms, the contestants and the host, and fix what players report.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The whole show is playable from start to finish. 4 to 8 players each sit in their own room, call each other on the phone and watch the results on their TV. There are ten games, eight in every show, and a TV host who explains each game, voiced in all ten languages. Windows and Mac players can play together.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. I plan to raise the price when the game leaves Early Access. Everyone who buys during Early Access gets all future updates at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I read the Steam discussions and bug reports myself, and each update's notes will say which changes came from players. I will also ask players which kinds of games they want next.”

About This Game

Call Me, Liar is a party game show for 4 to 8 friends, played online with your real voices. Every contestant sits alone in their own room with a phone, a room directory and a TV. On the phone you talk in private: make deals, share secrets, tell lies. On the TV the host runs the show, and every choice comes out in public.

How a show works

Each show plays eight of the ten games. Before every game the host explains it on the TV, and everyone gets time to talk it over. During the game you call the other rooms, one at a time, and decide who to believe. When time runs out, the results play out on the TV for everyone to see. Points carry over from game to game, and whoever has the most at the end wins the show.

The games

Rapid Pacts Call your partner and make a deal, then both of you secretly choose to share or take.

Bomb Game The wire that defuses your bomb is on someone else's card. Will they tell you the truth?

Who's on the Line? Every voice on the phone is disguised. Work out who is in which room and match them on your directory.

Spot the Clown One of you is secretly the Clown. Call around to find out who, but anyone can lie.

Six more games keep the show going: The Banishment, Convince & Hit, Last Laugh, Rabbit Race, Fine Print and Dead Line.
