Tentang Permainan Ini

Welcome to Backrooms Inc. You start Monday.

Backrooms: Steal the Furniture is a 1–4 player co-op horror comedy. You and your colleagues noclip out of reality into an infinite yellow office, find the furniture that got lost down there, drag it home and sell it in the store upstairs. Rent is due in three days. It is always due in three days.

Noclip in. Haul out.

Follow the clicks of your Radiation Radar to buried stock: sofas, ottomans, filing cabinets, a lamp that is worth more than your life. Carry it back through six hundred million square miles of damp carpet. Two-person lifts exist. So does dropping it on your friend. The noclip spots are one-way and most of them do not go home.

Sell it upstairs. Then lose it at the Lucky Lease.

Everything you bring home goes on the sales floor of the least legal furniture store in the county. Hit the number and your lease is extended. Miss it and the intercom thanks you for your service. After the shift there is the company casino: a half-moon blackjack table, a real roulette wheel and PAIROTS — a slot machine where four birds eat the board and every piece pays, with a bonus you can buy for a hundred spins' worth of chips and a MAX WIN of ten thousand times your bet that ends with fireworks. Spend the rent. Win it back. Probably.

Some nights the elevator opens somewhere else.

Most shifts start in the yellow rooms. Some nights it is Level 1, a parking deck with dead cars, storage cages and false puddles. Some nights it is Level 37, the poolrooms: knee-deep water, skylights, and nobody has ever been here. And once in a while it is Level 9, a suburb at midnight where every second house is empty. Same job. Different tenants.

Say it out loud and it will hear you.

Proximity voice chat is the only radio you get. The things down there listen. One of them smiles and only moves when you look away. One of them calls for help in your friend's voice. One of them waits behind a door at the end of a very long, very narrow corridor. They arrive with a sound, they hunt with heavy footsteps you feel through the floor, and there are more of them the longer the shift goes on. When something starts running you will hear it through three walls — and then it is in your face, and it is loud. When the hum stops, run.

Meet the crew.

Nobody at Backrooms Inc. looks alike. Every shift hands each player one of the five people who still work here: the Intern in a short-sleeve shirt and a lanyard, the Manager in a grey suit and glasses, the Company Issue chunk in the big porthole helmet, the Spaceman in a bubble helmet nobody asked about, and Maintenance with the hard hat, the headlamp and the moustache. You can tell who screamed from across the hall. Dye the outfit at the cosmetics counter; the crew colour stays on the armband.

Company merchandise. A hat for every head.

Twenty-eight hats in the cosmetics room upstairs: traffic cone, tinfoil, propeller cap, horse head, rubber duck, pizza slice, a crab that raves, a manager's cap, and the halo you only get by carrying five colleagues home. Ten outfit colours. Five dances. Morale is mandatory.

Every death is on tape.

Your body-cam records the whole shift. Face-plant, pirouette, sit down and give up — the team watches it back in the shift report, stamped F to A, with a clip count and a casualty count. If nobody comes back, the till is emptied and the day is written off. If the rent isn't paid, you and your furniture are on the pavement with a FOR LEASE sign. Post it. We know you will.

What's in the box

  • 1–4 player online co-op with proximity voice chat, walkie-talkies and an emote wheel for when you can't speak because you are hiding.
  • Five playable colleagues, handed out at random so no two of you look alike — with first-person hands to match.
  • Procedurally generated Backrooms — Level 0 never repeats, and some shifts roll a whole different level: the Parking Zone, the poolrooms of Sublimity, the Suburbs.
  • The Lucky Lease casino: blackjack, roulette and the PAIROTS slot with a buyable bonus and a 10 000× max win, played with the crew's own chips. No real money, ever.
  • A furniture store you actually run: sell stock, buy tools, upgrade the shop, keep the lights on, keep the landlord off the phone.
  • Tools that lie a little: Radiation Radar, flashlight, chalk, glowsticks, almond water, decoys, a walkie-talkie and an energy drink that makes you run like an idiot.
  • Six entities with six rules — the Smiler, the Bacteria, the Frontman, the Mimic, the Skitter and the Faceless. Learn the rule or become furniture. They are loud when they hunt and louder when they catch you.
  • 28 hats, 10 outfit colours, five dances, four death animations, and physics.
  • Shift reports, quota, rent, eviction. The corporate horror is the real horror. Continue your run tomorrow — the till remembers, and Steam Cloud carries it to your other PC.
  • Full settings menu: rebindable keys, mic and headphone selection, push-to-talk or open mic, resolution, FPS cap, VSync, FOV, captions for every monster sound, and a sound mixer with its own slider for the breathing.

A note from management

This is a horror game. It contains jump scares, darkness, very loud screams, an intercom that is far too calm, and cartoon violence against employees. It does not contain gore or blood. The casino is played with company chips that cannot be bought or cashed out. It does contain a lamp that is worth more than you.

Backrooms Inc. is an equal-opportunity employer. Casualties are logged for training purposes.
