Find the dogs, bring the painting back

Every level starts as a bare gray canvas. Find a dog and a patch of the painting soaks back into color. Find them all and the canvas is a finished work again, in full color, exactly as it hangs in the museum.

Nothing is hidden behind an energy bar or a wrong-click penalty.

Dozens of real paintings

Van Gogh, Klimt, Mucha, Fragonard, Bruegel, and many more, all from museum scans rather than illustrations of paintings. The game tells you the name of each painting, so you may come away knowing a work you had never noticed before.

Thousands of dogs, dozens of breeds

A corgi asleep in the brushwork, a dachshund along a shadow, a Great Dane pretending to be a tree trunk, and more.

Hunt together, or against each other

Up to four players, on one screen or online. Share a single canvas and call out what you spot,

or take your own copy and race to the last dog.

Some of what moves is helping you, or maybe not...

Light travels across the canvas and the brushwork breathes the way oil does under gallery light. Rain runs down some paintings, lightning goes off inside them, and now and then the whole canvas drops to black and white for a while. Some of that will hand you a dog you had walked straight past. Some of it is only the painting being alive, and will lead you nowhere at all, very beautifully.

Search to classical music

More than sixty recordings, from chamber music and piano to orchestra. Every painting carries its own ambience underneath it, from birdsong to rain to waves, and a great deal of very good barking.

Drawn by hand

Every dog and every icon in this game was hand-drawn. The paintings are the exception, and deliberately so. Those are the real thing.

Made to be looked at, not squinted at

• A click covers the whole paw, so you don't have to be pixel-perfect to find a dog.

• Hints that escalate gently when you ask, and never nag when you do not.

• A miss is just a miss. The game does not punish it and does not limit it.

• You set how crowded a painting gets, and it hides them somewhere else next time.

The entire game was made by one human and one dog.
