Why Early Access?

“A game collection lives on the mood around the table, not only on its rules. All four games in Nightcup are already fully playable, alone against bots or online with friends. What we are missing now is your feedback: which house rules do you actually switch on? Where does the interface get in the way? Which game do you keep taking back off the shelf? Early Access is how we set the polish together with you.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around a year. We will leave Early Access as soon as an evening at the table feels finished and complete. That makes it an honest estimate rather than a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Above all in polish and comfort. The interface gets further passes, the bots get stronger, and we adjust rule variants wherever playing shows they need it. We are also working on achievements and detailed statistics. And there is plenty of room left on the shelf: if a game proves itself in testing, it moves in!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Nightcup is fully playable today.

Four complete games: a dice classic for up to 6 players, the well known take-that board game with 3 modes and 6 house rules, a deep island trading game with variants and expansions, and Solitaire, solo or as a fast multiplayer race.

Flexible opponents: bots across 3 difficulty levels, local network play, or online over Steam with invitations straight from your friends list.

Technical groundwork: a bilingual interface (German and English), sound, and adjustable scaling for handhelds.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to raise the price at the full release. Support us during Early Access and you get the finished collection for less. The price stays stable for the whole Early Access period, and we will announce any increase well in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read and answer the feedback in the Steam discussions and the reviews. Our update notes explain openly what is changing and why. House rules and variants you ask for almost always fit as options you can switch on, which is exactly what Nightcup was built for. And bug reports with a save or a screenshot attached get top priority when we fix things.”

About This Game

Pull up a chair. Tonight the table is all ours.

Nightcup is a digital game collection with one simple principle: everything is played at a single table. Grab a game off the shelf, fill the empty seats with bots, or open a lobby and invite your Steam friends straight in.

What is on the shelf?

  • Dice Poker. Five dice, three attempts a turn and thirteen boxes on the score pad, including a bonus for a strong upper half. For up to 6 players at the table.

  • No Hard Feelings. The board game classic everybody knows: get your four pieces to the finish. Land on another player and it is all the way back home for them! Alongside the classic rules there are the Bombs and Portals modes, plus 6 house rules you can switch on, such as barriers, forced captures or three rolls when you are blocked.

  • Kolonisten. Settle a newly discovered island: gather resources on the roll of the dice, trade with the bank, the harbours or your fellow players, and build up your realm. Play a fixed beginner map, or explore islands with sea routes, random maps, numbers, harbours, knights and trade goods for the long evenings.

  • Solitaire. Klondike for one hand (draw 1 or draw 3). Or as a fast multiplayer race: everybody gets exactly the same deal. First to clear the board wins. No waiting, pure speed!

Made for game nights together

  • Open a lobby on Steam. Your friends join by invitation, straight from their friends list or through the server browser. Local network play (LAN) is supported too.

  • Bots fill every empty chair and play a proper game across 3 selectable difficulty levels.

  • Seamless play: every game uses the same table and the same dice, cards and pieces. No long loading screens when you switch games!

  • Bilingual in German and English, including adjustable interface scaling for handhelds like the Steam Deck.

Still early days

Nightcup is currently in alpha. Four games are already on the shelf, and there is plenty of room left for more. The rules of all four are complete and play through to the end today without trouble. From here on it is about polish, comfort, and feedback from the people you sit at the table with!
