Why Early Access?

“Because an arena shooter is not done when the loop works. It is done when strangers keep showing up. We already have a playable game, a locked movement and weapon foundation, a level editor, and Workshop in the product. We need a public to decide the map pool, prove the modes, stress the netcode, and start a map-author culture. Early Access is the honest way to sell a real game that is still being made with its players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect PAIMT ARENA to remain in Early Access for approximately one year. This is an estimate, and the timing may change based on development progress and player feedback. Our goals for leaving Early Access include refining the core game modes, establishing a community-tested map pool, and improving the reliability of competitive multiplayer through public playtesting.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Higher quality assets, sounds and FX as well as more fleshed out modes challenges and services within the games services.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable Windows multiplayer with the core arena loop already proven with six live players. Movement, weapons, paint tools, multiple modes, a level editor, and Steam identity/Workshop are in. Ranked, matchmaking, and default server authority are not the live product yet. Some newer modes still need public acceptance.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer PAIMT ARENA at a lower base price during Early Access and increase the base price when the game reaches its full release. We will announce the planned increase ahead of time through Steam announcements.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to develop PAIMT ARENA with feedback from players through Steam Discussions and the official PAIMT Discord. Players can report bugs, share gameplay clips, discuss balance, and suggest improvements to maps, game modes, and the map and mode creation tools.

Community feedback will help us decide which problems to address first and which areas need more development. We are particularly interested in combat balance, map flow, multiplayer reliability, performance, and how clearly the game explains its mechanics to new players. Reports from both experienced arena shooter players and newcomers will help guide these decisions. Feedback from map creators and players will also help shape improvements to the editor and the selection of maps for community play.

We plan to use community play sessions, streaming nights, and map-making events to gather feedback and test changes. As updates become available, players will be able to try them and share follow-up reports. We will post patch notes and development updates through Steam announcements and Discord, explaining what changed and how player feedback informed those changes. We cannot implement every suggestion, but we will weigh recurring requests alongside playtesting results and PAIMT ARENA's core design.”
