What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Abyss Floors is a solo-built MMO, and an MMO is only real once people are actually in it. It has just come out of a closed alpha, and Early Access is how I keep building it with the players instead of guessing in the dark. The economy, the balance of the deep zones and the endgame all get better the more people descend and tell me what breaks. Progress is permanent: everything you build in Early Access carries forward. There is no wipe.
”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan on roughly two to three months. Early Access starts on 1 October 2026 and we are aiming for the full 1.0 release at the start of December 2026, but that date will move if the game needs it.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The world already spans 19 zones, but the gear catalog and the balance are tuned most carefully for the earlier bands. On the road to 1.0 we plan to extend gear, drops and balance across the full depth, deepen the skill trees, tune deep-zone difficulty and the economy, and harden PvP, clans and territory based on what players actually do with them. We also plan to add combat audio, more monster and weapon variety, and quality-of-life.
improvements the community asks for. The shape of the game is not planned to change; the depth and polish are.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable from start to endgame: 19 zones, over 600 monsters, an item catalog of more than 800 items across six rarities, nine weapon archetypes, uncapped enchanting, crafting, a player house with upgradeable rooms, an open player market, clans, territory and opt-in PvP, all on a server-authoritative economy. It runs on desktop through Steam and in the browser. It is early software with rough edges, and balance in the deepest zones is the part I am least sure of.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Abyss Floors is free to play, and we are not planning to change that when we leave Early Access. We may offer an optional premium account boost that speeds up progression; we plan to keep the full game playable without it.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Directly. There is a Discord and public devlogs, I read and reply to feedback myself, and balance changes are discussed in the open before they ship. Because progress is permanent, players are building the real game world from day one. Bug reports, balance complaints and build theorycrafting are the whole reason the doors are open early. Steam discussions and community reviews will be read and answered.”

About This Game

You don't fight the fight — you engineer it.

Abyss Floors is a dark-fantasy semi-idle MMORPG. Combat is automatic and runs tick by tick on the server, shown as a live combat log. Your job is everything before the first swing: the weapon, the build, the gear, the hunting ground, the house, the clan. Get it right and your character carves its way deeper. Get it wrong and the abyss tells you why, line by line.

How it plays

  • Pick a hunting ground and your character fights it on its own, kill after kill.
  • Read the log. Every hit, crit, block and miss is shown, so you can see exactly where a build is weak.
  • Adjust and push deeper. Better gear, a better build or a better room, then down to the next zone.
  • Play anywhere. The Steam desktop client and the browser client share the same account and the same characters. The browser version also works on phones.

The core loop

  • FARM — monsters, gold, materials, recipes and rare drops, online and offline.
  • UPGRADE — enchant, craft, research recipes, mount trophies, build your house and your artifacts.
  • CONQUER — climb the zones, top the rankings, fight for territory with your clan.
Farm · Upgrade · Conquer.

The descent

Everyone starts at the Threshold. Almost no one reaches the Void.
  • 19 zones of a descending abyss, from The Threshold at level 1 to The Void Absolute, 500 levels below.
  • 1,270 named monsters across 104 hunting rooms, with elites, mini-bosses and a Bestiary that records every one you kill.
  • Accuracy and Dodge. Every attack checks the attacker's accuracy against the defender's dodge. Bows, crossbows and magic are precise; heavy melee is less so. Deeper monsters dodge more. A miss can never be more likely than 70 %, and bosses can't be dodged.
  • The World Abyss — a weekly world boss. The Abyssal Warden cannot be killed and never strikes back: every hit you land counts toward your weekly damage, your damage sets your reward tier, and the Top 10 is shown for everyone to see.

A real player-driven economy

  • Gold is conserved and dupe-proof. Every trade is handled by the server and every coin is accounted for.
  • An open market where players set the prices. Buy part of a stack, reprice your own listings, and buy back what you sold to a vendor by mistake.
  • A 977-item catalog in 6 rarities, from Common up to Mythic.
  • 321 weapons across 9 archetypes — Sword & Shield, Axe & Shield, Spear & Shield, Staff & Shield, Two-Handed Sword, Two-Handed Staff, Dual Axes, Bow and Crossbow — each archetype with its own skill tree.
  • Item links in chat, so you can show off a drop or price-check it in any channel.

Clans, territory & opt-in PvP

  • Clans with three roles — Leader, Officers and Members — a shared treasury, member donations and an optional clan tax.
  • A Clan Hall with 8 buildings that raise stats for every member.
  • Capturable territory. Clans besiege keeps every Saturday for clan-wide bonuses.
  • PvP is where you choose to farm. The Crimson Marches and the Elite and Gold-Boss rooms of the deeper zones are open PvP, and pay better for the risk. Everywhere else is safe outside the Saturday siege hour.
  • Karma: White, Purple, Red. Attack someone and you are flagged. Kill someone who never fought back and you turn Red, and anyone may hunt you.

A house that compounds

  • 18 room types, most with no level cap: Forge, Library, Attack, Defense, Vitality, Regen, Storage, Bedroom, Hunting Lodge, PvE and PvP damage and defense, Gold Find, Attack Speed, Dodge, Accuracy and Research.
  • The Trophy Room. Mount monster trophies for permanent stat bonuses. There are 104 trophy tracks, one per hunting room, and every step costs more than the last.
  • The Research room. Turn duplicate recipes into a random recipe one tier higher.
  • 13 artifacts to level up, each a long gold-and-material sink with its own bonus.

Built for a life

  • Offline progression. Your character keeps farming while you are away, up to 8 hours (24 hours with Premium), and you claim it when you return.
  • No hard level cap. The Void Absolute has no floor.
  • Unbounded enchanting and weapon mastery you grind out over months.
  • Up to 3 characters per world on one account.

Two worlds, one account

Play on World #1 "Black Abyss" or World #2 "Abyss Surface". One account works on both; each world has its own characters and its own economy.

Your progress is permanent

No wipe. Not at the end of Early Access, not at 1.0. What you build in the abyss stays yours.

Free to play, with optional Premium

Abyss Floors is free to play. Premium is an optional 30-day pass ($9.99, bought through Steam). It gives +30 % XP and +20 % gold from kills, a longer offline cap (24 hours instead of 8) and a crown next to your name. It does not sell gear, stats, enchant chances or market advantages: everything in the game can be earned by playing.

A note from the developer

Abyss Floors is a solo project. It entered Early Access on 1 October 2026, and version 1.0 is planned for 1 December 2026. Updates land often, and player feedback decides much of what comes next. Thank you for descending with me.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of the content in Abyss Floors was created with the help of generative AI tools, always under the developer's direction and review:

Text — Portions of the game's descriptive and flavor text (item and ability descriptions, interface copy, and atmospheric lore lines) were drafted with AI assistance and edited by the developer.

Store & branding art — The store-page capsules, library images, and other branding graphics were produced with AI-assisted tools.

Abyss Floors is a text- and table-driven simulation, so there is no AI-generated illustrated art in actual gameplay, and all screenshots on this page are captured directly from the live game.
